The next installment of The Princess's Captain is live! ...And short.
Look, when I started this story, I planned on it being just a silly thing for me to write at my leisure and use to explore the concept of romance. I didn't think anyone would care about it. :/ Then it went to the top of the wackybox and now it has watchers, which means people who will likely be disappointed that part 2 is only 3,000 Fimficwords long (meaning less than 3k in real-type words) and can't decide if it's a light-hearted comedy or a deep and serious drama.
I really hate disappointing people. It's why I never make promises.
But that, along with the simple fact that I don't write fast, not to mention I had to rewrite this story four times to make it work, is why it took so long to happen. TPC was supposed to be the story I noodled around with in between other, bigger projects.
Well, anyway, I hope people don't hate me too much for making you wait this long for this little. ._. The next one's gonna be a grand, sweeping adventure, and if I'm being honest? Part of the reason part 2 took so long is that I spent all that time really wanting to write part 3. So hopefully this won't take much longer.

ifwhen I ever update again.Once or twice a year, I go through my Incompletes bookshelf looking for any stories that have gone more than a year without updating and remove them. Updates every four months? You, sir, are above average.

That's why I keep a backburner shelf. :B Anything that hasn't updated in a year gets thrown somewhere it won't clog up my unread chapters count. I don't get updates if they update, but I do see blogs posted with the stories tagged, and of course once a year I also check and see if anything there is complete. You'd be surprised at how many stories just this year have had their first update in two years!

I think that this last year or two has been tumultuous for a lot of people, oddly enough. I have so many projects that stalled out and I’m just getting back to now. And I’m not the only one... I wonder if there’s been a study or observation or anything regarding where everyone’s time went these last two years...
I know for a fact this is going to be the response to the next chapter for my fanfic Empathy.
I reeeeeally need to finish that.
All that matters is that you're doing this for yourself.

I don't mind the wait. I have like 67 stories in my tracking feed, so I am always supplied with new chaperts of some story or another.
