Dan Vs. Aegis Ally and Other Royal Guards · 2:47am Mar 21st, 2018

When Princess Celestia and Luna departed to defend Saddle Arabia, the bulk of the Royal Guard accompanied them. Although it is not known what happened during the battle, it is known that the Equestrians and Saddle Arabians were defeated. In their absence, Equestria has fallen into a state of chaos and without even Discord to manage it because of his injuries. Far worse than simple panic, the entire kingdom is now beset upon from threats within and without. Locked in a shadow war, their only hope is Dan, a man who fell from the sky to rage against the dying of the light.

Dan has many friends and enemies but not all are present. Among the few Royal Guards who remained in Canterlot is High Marshal Aegis Ally.

A high-ranking member of the Royal Guard, Aegis first appeared in Episode 5 when Dan, Twilight and Chrys were arrested. After the incident at the guards' jailhouse, Aegis was forced to take responsibility for the mishap and was unavailable to leave with Princess Celestia and Luna at the time they were needed. He wasn't named in the episode, but both he and the leader of the Royal Guard, High Marshal Steadfast "Stonewall" Stalwart are both canonically present.

High Marshal Steadfast, nicknamed Stonewall after his unwavering defense during an attack by a group of traveling ogres who all somewhat looked like Ogre from Dan's favorite movie, Revenge of The Nerds. Stonewall is the highest-ranked Royal Guard, unquestioned in authority and answering directly to the princesses themselves. He is considered to be the bravest, strongest and most honorable of all guardspones, the paragon pone of which all Royal Guards model themselves after. Unfortunately, he was among the guards who went along with Celestia and Luna to the failed defense of Oasis City, the capital of Saddle Arabia.

Currently listed as Missing In Action, Aegis was forced to take Stonewall's place as High Marshal, a promotion he didn't want to earn that way.

The Night Guard, Princess Luna's personal guards, hoof-picked by her personally from a subspecies of ponies that dwells within caves far to the north in the Equestrian-equivalent of Canada. The Night Guard are mostly nocturnal, as their name suggests and rarely seen. Some say they are zealous protectors of Princess Luna, almost worshiping her and believing her to be even more deserving of the throne than Celestia. Others say they are simply cave-dwelling ponies that don't like strong light that much. It is rumored that the most elite cadre of Night Guards was imprisoned along with Luna when she was banished to the moon, among them the Shadowbolts.

Chris Redfield and Captain Steven Rogers, aka Captain America. Inducted into the Royal Guard by Dan himself as members of the Sparkle Guard and Ponyville Irregular Engagement Service(PIES). Plucked from the universe of Marvel Vs. Capcom by the Director in order to be trophies for her deranged amusement, they were freed by Dan and company during the assault on Project Prosperity, an elaborate plan to create a new universe through a combination of technology and magic to replace the current one. Dan and Phoenix both have prior experience with them, Dan having unintentionally worked for the Umbrella Corporation and Hydra as an independent subcontractor.

Finally, we don't have a picture of him at the moment, but Captain Nightshade is a special Royal Guard and spy with a knack for disguises. Originally based on the gardener from the Canterlot Castle at the Grand Galloping Gala, Nightshade is a member of plain-clothes Royal Guards called the Special Tactics and Logistics Legion, or STALL, which is similar to the STARS that Chris was a member of in Resident Evil. Nightshade is very adaptive, chivalrous and just a little bit nutty but very loyal to the princesses and Equestria. Not just a fan of plants but also animals, as he often times enlists their help to overcome obstacles and complete his objectives.

Because of their fondness of critters, Nightshade is also fond of Fluttershy, an affection which she returns. Nightshade went to investigate Vice Grip's overthrow of the Crystal Empire and later left Dan's group to search for the princesses. His current whereabouts are unknown, but there is a chance that's because he's keeping them that way.

And now Dan has Maurice LaMarche to deal with. At least it isnt Chris Barrie and Craig Charles. Sir Killalot is bigger than most ponies, and they really wouldnt want Red Dwarf to drop in and crush the party. Although given it escaped from a Black Hole once it couldve ended up Anywhere.

Nighshades cousins are Spud and Cherry Tomato? :pinkiehappy:

Nightshade is my buddy's OC, don't know if he's given them a family but that's a neat idea. The "Deadly Nightshade" family.
