I've kind of given up trying to figure out how FimFic decides to feature stories.
Thought it might have something to do with a amazing likes to dislikes ratio, but your story didn't really have that. So now I'm guessing it's mostly based on the number of comments a new fic gets.

As I understand it, it's based on 'Heat', which is an algorithm governed by comments, views, and likes. Enough views and comments on something can bring it into the featured box even if it has a terrible like/dislike ratio because views and comments alone can generate enough heat.

Well stories on other accounts have made the featured box, but this is the first I've seen for Headless Rainbow.
