Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse 2, Episode 5: Places Frozen in Time! The Large Time Rifts · 5:41pm Feb 27th, 2018

Welcome back!

Previously: Taresu and Lord Slug have joined forces with Towa and Mira and have already fought our rookie Time Patrollers once, on Earth and Namek respectively.

Episode 5: Places Frozen in Time! The Large Time Rifts

PROTIP: ALWAYS use your Scouter to check the level of random Time Patrollers in PQs BEFORE you challenge them to fight. ALWAYS. X_X;;

In this episode, we take a look at Advancement Tests (a straightforward progress test to unlock more instructors) and the Large Time Rifts. In the last video, we took a look around the Grand Elder's house. This time, we'll be taking a look at the other Rifts, and our guide will be my big green friend...Bana!

In this video I look like kind of a pathetic noob, wandering around accomplishing absolutely jack shit. A lot of the stuff you can do in the Time Rifts, you have to be at certain levels for or have to have done certain things for--so even though the Time Rifts are unlocked by completing a certain amount of the story, there's honestly not much you can DO there yet. I've looked up some of the requirements, and I'm a pretty long way from being able to do any of what I want to do.

Anyway, to break it down, there are five special sidequest areas:

Grand Elder Guru's House: Here you'll undertake missions to protect Namek from invaders who are after the Dragonballs (ugh...) and give items to a gardener who will give you vegetables in return.

Mister Satan's House: Here you can do bodyguarding jobs for Mister Satan and train with Gohan and Vid--err, Great Saiyaman and Great Saiyaman 2.

Capsule Corporation: Here, you can make QQ Bangs and spar with Vegeta.

Buu's House: Feed Buu so his family will grow! His children will bring you stuff if you feed them.

Frieza's Ship: Join Frieza's Army and join in the infighting!

Each Time Rift is, of course, the path to awakening race-specific skills, but all races can undertake any training/missions/whatever.

What's going to happen next?

Find out next time, on Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse 2!

See ya next fight!

And certain instructor "missions".

Here you can do bodyguarding jobs for Mister Satan

You just get cash, more as a Human. Useful early to midgame, but once you've hit late to post, eh, the extra cash is always nice, but you could buy 99 of everything and still be fine. Then again, I have 34 billion plus zeni so...

Each Time Rift is, of course, the path to awakening race-specific skills, but all races can undertakeanytraining/missions/whatever.

Well, there's a special mission in each rift for a specific class. For example, the Guru's House time rift has an exclusive mission for the Namekian character, and the Frieza's Space Ship time rift has an exclusive mission for the Frieza race character. It's how you unlock the race specific transformation ability.

You also probably know this by now, but Krillin and Yamcha will occasionally host special classes in Cotton City, which depending on how fast you finish them will net you some zeni and I believe special badges that you can trade in for items/equipment instead of using zeni. Supposedly, your instructor can sometimes hold a special class at Time Patroller Academy, but I've never noticed it or know of what (if anything) you get for attending it.

Yyyyyeah, having taken a few of his "challenges" now on another character? Well, let's just say, it's about what you'd expect from the butt of every joke that is Mister Satan. -_-

I've definitely seen Kuririn's Milk Run come up twice, but given my terrible eyesight and all, I haven't attempted it yet. It's literally impossible for me to use the in-game map overlay. Anything that actively requires me to use it is...not going to happen. :/

I know. The hardest is trying to do a 50 hit combo. It's DOABLE, it's just likely going to take a long combo, a stamina break, and an Ultimate that hits for a while. Or, just Dodoria's Ultimate. Or, really just Full Power Energy Blast Volley after a knockaway combo.

4806730 It's not a requirement anyways, it's just a way to earn more zeni and Time Patroller badges outside the Parallel Quests and Time Patrols. It's only really helpful if you wanna store up Time Patroller badges instead of grinding for Zeni.

Or Meteor Crash with full ki at the end of a regular combo? :P

4806757

Nah, that just brings you up to about 45. With a Male Saiyan combo.

4806759
I *think* I broke 50 with it with Orion Prime, but I'd have to check. The timing is EVERYTHING.

4806763

You'd likely be right. I THINK that if you do a full light and then heavy smackdown combo, chase after and Meteor Crash you could pass 50, but, no guarantee.

4806765
It'd be tricky, yeah. No matter how much ki you have, Meteor Crash stops at exactly 35 hits, and your recovery time is just long enough to break the combo streak, so....it's down to split second execution and LUCK.

4806784

Or NOT using Meteor Crash.

4806785
Eh, Meteor Crash is a guaranteed 35 hits on full ki if the opponetn doesn't use an Evasive. I've gotten up to around 37 hits on JUST juggle combos with Orion (you'll see it in the next video). Imagine tagging Meteor Crash at the end of that before the opponent can get loose from you.

4806797

If you can do that, then that's your 50 hit combo.

4806797
If Meteor Crash is the move I think it is, holding the button down will have the combo go on longer for more hits, but using up more ki.

4807062
Yeah, but regardless of how much ki you have, the combo maxes out at 35 hits. I know this from experience, it was my go-to strike super for 80% of the first game.

4807075
Ah. ...are you sure? Because I've seen it used for a longer combo...though it used up about four or five ki bars to do so.

4807078
It only combos longer when it's used in the middle of a combo. Like,if you're already juggling for 15 or so hits and then you go into Meteor Crash. But on its own, detached from anything else, it will always stop at 35 hits on full ki.
