Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse, Episode 14: Come Forth, Shenron! Grant My Wish! · 10:22pm Feb 20th, 2018

Welcome back!

Previously: Kinoa intervened in Towa's attempt to erase Trunks from existence; a new player entered the game, leaving Toki no Kaioushin on edge.

Episode 14: Come Forth, Shenron! Grant My Wish!

So first of all, some offscreen action:

While not recording, I was farming for the last skill I need to complete Kinoa's "pink energy blasts" loadout. While doing so, I collected my first Dragonball!

(Not actually the first one I collected, but I forgot to screencap that. I think. I'm honestly not sure which was my first anymore, I just know I have one fewer screencap than I have Dragonballs.)

I also learned that on some Parallel Quests, other Time Patrollers (ie, other players' created characters) will show up as bonus enemies if you fulfill certain clear conditions. I like that, it's a neat touch. Also, it's important because only on PQs where you fight other Time Patrollers can you obtain Dragonballs. Every guide online says Parallel Quest #2 ("Prepare for the Saiyans") is the best PQ to farm Dragonballs. That's true early in the game, when you're level 10. At this point in the game, when I'm level 40 and have Super Saiyan and can spam Ultimates? PQ #2 is an unnecessary waste of time. It's actually easier for me to farm them in PQ #15, where you fight Freeza on the exploding Namek. Beat him in under three minutes (it seriously takes me less than one now) and a Time Patroller shows up. Not only is this faster for a higher-level player, it's a hell of a good way to level up and farm zenni.

Also, fun fact: You get a special trophy for getting the Four-Star Dragonball. Bonus cookies if you know why.

In this episode, I also completed my training with both Vegeta and Ginyu, began my training with Juuhachigou, and found all seven Dragonballs and made a wish on Shenron.

It's...kind of a crappy wish, the wish I made, but I honestly didn't want any of the things you could wish for in this game, so I just used it to unlock SSJ4 Gogeta, who isn't as useful as he should be as a support fighter.

And now, because I haven't done it in a while...screencap theater!

First, let's get a little Kinoa fanservice left over from when I was playing around with her outfit:

Some people have no concept of how not to embarrass themselves online. Case in point:

You have to wonder if people who give themselves usernames like this even realize there are real people around the world laughing at them. Not with them, at them.

What the hell am I even looking at here? I mean really? We've got a dark red and bright blue Namek, wearing GT Goku's clothes and an SSJ Goku wig. And his face is blue. What the fucking fuck, man? Fuck.

This is just sad. I'm sorry, it really is.

And here's some other players' characters I took screencaps of:

Yes. Yes you are.

#1? What, is there a Gang of Ganguro Girls?

*GASP!* Not...GREEN HAIR!!

I...guess that's a style? I mean, if she's from the 80s?

The only original thing about this guy is that hair color. It's originally BAD.

Now this, I like. Simple, straightforward, stylish.

What's going to happen next? Find out next time, on Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse!

See ya next fight!

What kind of self-respecting Dragon Ball fan wouldn't know? :twistnerd:

(Please note the complete lack of additional letters or words in the italicized title.)

One, why wouldn't you want to use the other wishes on this file?
Two, I think 'Ganguro Girl #1' might be in reference to a date-sim game called 'Ganguro Girl', and the character design based off the first such girl of that game. Either that, or the user's favorite.

Eh, I just honestly am underwhelmed by the rewards offered for all that work farming the Dragonballs.

I mean, it breaks down like this. That's what you get for each potential wish. It basically breaks down to "stuff I won't use, completely changing a character I've put a lot of work into, waste it on a level-up, or money". It's....really underwhelming. I have no interest in the Journey to the West costume set. I have no interest in the Power Pole. I have no interest in any of those special moves/ultimates for this character. Money is easy to farm in PQs. That pretty much leaves reshuffling my skill points (which I don't want to do), remaking Kinoa (which I absolutely don't want to do, she's perfect the way she is), or unlocking hidden characters. "Unlocking hidden characters" therefore becomes the only remotely useful option in this instance.

On a future playthrough with a different character? I might want those skills. I might want that costume. I might decide the money sounds good. But right now? It's all just pointless.

Ah, I see.
I don't know if it's in Xenoverse or Xenoverse 2, but when you hit the level cap there's another wish that becomes available that increases the level cap.

Big Dumplin is a reference to TeamFourStar’s own character, Dumplin.

By the way, the Supreme Kai of Time does have a name. Chronoa.

It's inappropriate to refer to a god by their given name without permission. :raritywink:

Fair enough. Just thought you might like to know.

4802191
I already knew ^^;;

Oh. Well now I just feel dumb.

The Four-Star Ball was actually my first Dragon Ball drop.

I was understandably happy.

Also minor point: Hakusa is an in-game NPC. She'll read off your Power Level (i.e. you actual level) and make a comment on it, ranging from rude to amazed.

*looks at pic again, notes blue name text* Derp. You're right. I honestly wasn't paying attention. ^^;;
