Barcast and co could use a hand...

So in case you've been ignoring the youtube drama (Good plan!) there's been a new twist.

If you're a channel under 1k subs and made within the past year, you can no longer monetize your videos.
Simple terms: If you're a group, say, The Barcast who upload streams to youtube and use the money to fund a horse charity, you're now totally out of luck.
