    Important message about Suicide

WARNING: Discussions, however brief for the sake of tact, about self-harm and suicidal thoughts are in this post. People especially vulnerable to such should ensure they are in a good headspace before reading. This sort of trigger is no joke.

    Chapter 56 Promo!

In an isolated, abnormally large, hollowed-out tree might not be the typical abode for megalomaniacal n'ere-do-wells. Though, there was a reason both of them had opted for current accommodations over the typical kingdoms and castles, in one form or another. The area was absolutely inundated with dark magic. From the eerie glow that some of the plants gave off, to traces of black aerenth crystals

The Lost World Survival: Plot So Far, part 2 · 6:07am Jan 15th, 2018

The intrepid troop choose to wait until nightfall, Bill using his tech skills to begin ease-dropping on BioSyn's communications. Through this they learn Dr. Levine is still alive and held captive by the BioSyn expedition, forcefully cohering him to assist in species identification and asset use. Conferencing with the InGen team on the mainland, Dr. Sarah Harding notes there is a strong indication BioSyn was somehow aware of InGen's secret islands and had been trying to find ways to steal their assets and research; a theft scheme BioSyn is notorious for given they very rarely do their own work. It seems they discovered Isla Sorna alongside Isla Nublar and are using the lull in occupation between Sorna being abandoned in 1993 to the expedition in 1997 to try and pillage the island. No doubt they'll be extremely reckless both there and with anything they take back, which could cause untold devastation if they were successful. Hammond and Masrani are clear, for the EPA, InGen, and Masrani Corp to successfully and close and protect John Hammond's legacy; BioSyn must be stopped.

The trio drive the trailers slowly through the forest to try and circle around the game trail and get to a good vantage point to spy on BioSyn's camp. in the darkness though they come to a stop at a creek bed. There's a very large dinosaur up ahead. After trying and failing to distract it with a flare, the creature instead approaches and comes up right next to the trailers. It doesn't make any aggressive actions, but it does keep looking inside the windows and sniffing like it's searching for something. Randy identifies it as a Suchomimus, an extremely large Theropod dinosaur that primarily ate marine life and fish.

They also notice there's something snagged around its ankles. The remnants of a snare trap, one Gary recognizes as what poachers use to catch elephants. The creature sits down outside the trailers, unintentionally blocking the way but waiting. After figuring out it's not hostile, Randy theorizes it was trained to seek out one of the keepers and hold still to be tended to, much like some zoo animals are. All the creatures on Isla Sorna were bred there to one day go to Isla Nublar so it is quite possible this particular Suchomimus remembered that training actually came to them for help. Figuring to test it and confirming its not hostile, one manages to hold it's attention while the other two sneak around behind it and use a knife and boltcutters to cut the snare.

The Suchomimus notices them as it's freed and gets up, but doesn't do anything to harm. Evidently her primarily fish-based diet made mammals smell unpalatable her to begin with. The creature, nicknamed "Castiel", soon proves her worth when an unknown predator rushes the trailers. It also tries to grab hold of one of the team, but they have a very hard time seeing it as it looks almost blurry or extremely well camouflaged, distorting the details. Castiel however goes on the offensive to protect the humans and her territory, the 40 foot Spinosaurid grabbing the intruder and hurling it to the ground before they start battling it out. The team couldn't see just what she was fighting, only glimpsing it through the half covered windows when it bit into her and Castiel raked her claws across its face; the struggle slamming into the back trailer before carrying on down stream in the darkness. The trailer drives off to the sound of Castiel's roars, heading for the game trail.

Well, that was a lucky break for the troop. Glad to see that some of the theropods on Sorna play nice with humans XD

Is this going to be in the movie? If so, that will be a first concerning large theropods.
