I have just seen the newest Star Wars.
Solid 7 in my view.
Not sure what the whole division in the fanbase for it, but eh. Never cared for it on this one, don't care for that one. Feel free to fill me in.
Tomorrow: Jumanji, because why the fuck not.

I also have a blog post I'm debating on.
It will not be a... pleasant one.
If anything, I'll just post at the first of the month.

Rest in Peace Admiral Ackbar. I will miss you jumping out and yelling about obvious traps
Anyway yeah I'd second that rating wasn't the best Star Wars movie, but its far from the worst. At the end of the day at least Jar Jar's not in it.
Haven't seen Star Wars.
Jumanji was cheesy, dumb, unrealistic, and two hours of Jack Black being a 15 year old girl.
In other words, it was exactly what it was supposed to be. I enjoyed it.
Re: Star Wars Drama As Far As I Have Seen: As far as I know there are two conflicts. One is that a bunch of feminists have come in and tried to politicize the film because a woman in authority was demeaning and disrespectful to a man at one point therefore most #feminists film ever, and people have kind of resented that, only instead of pointing out how the politicization is both shallow and reflects poorly on those commentators making it, they just buy that the film is essentially feminist and decided that that makes it total shit instead of #OMGPERFECT. Also, anyone who doesn't like the movie is now a woman hating Trump supporting Russian spy because of course they are. The other conflict is that people felt the way the movie questioned the ethos of prior films and subverted expectations of the story structure was both shallow and overwrought. Depending on where you are these conflicts overlap. I think all of it is stupid, frankly. I liked the movie.

I will be hard-pressed to not enjoy two hours of jack black doing absolute what the fuck ever, and i normally don't like going to movies.
I'll see if i can snag a screening with someone.
Haven’t seen it. Don’t care for Star Wars. That said, the division seems to be hitting the box office pretty hard.

Oh, he was absolutely the star of it. The Rock was pretty good as playing the skinny nerdy kid. Kevin Hart can't play anyone besides Kevin Hart, and though he generally was funny as Kevin Hart, he didn't sell that he was playing a somber football star.
But yes, Jack Black was the star of that movie.
I loved the new Jumanji... wasn't the classic but was still fun
A 7? Felt more like an 8 to me.
Letter grade wise I'd give it a C+.

My entire Star Wars experience can be summed up in these memes...

I can fully accept lightsabers, hyperdrives, and a blaster bolt being stopped in midair in the previous movie, but I can't accept sound traveling through the vacuum of space to announce the arrival of a star destroyer on a nearby planet's surface, or one ship rattling when another flies by at close range. Other than that, I walked away happy.
