Holiday Ramblings · 10:21pm Dec 3rd, 2017
Instead of just slapping a Santa hat onto my avatar, I'm gonna use a picture of Sketch in the elf costume for this month.
It's the third of December, and that means that maybe this time I might finally be able to finish Hearth's Warming is Merry in Our Town. I've already got a chapter written up, and hopefully my progress won't be impeded by a sudden stomach bug like last year. Also, I'm going to be very annoyed if some people show up on that story just to remind me of a certain Season 7 episode...
Anyway, I think I'm being a little extra Christmassy this year thanks to last year's stomach bug severely lessening my enjoyment of the holiday. Didn't get to do much art or writing, doing things in real life was a chore, and I was pretty grumpy the whole time. I'm hoping that I can draw more holiday stuff than just one comic this year.
I also want to do a throwback to an old tradition from when I was little: painting sugar cookies. When we visited Grandma during the holidays, we'd bake cookies with her, and just before putting them in the oven, she made paint out of egg and food coloring so we could paint the cookies and make them colorful. We all loved it, and I'm a little sad that that tradition had faded away. It's something I want to try, along with baking a full blown sugar cookie Nativity scene.
Something awesome about this year is that Christmas is one of only two days in the year where my family can actually video chat with my sister Artsy Notes while she's on her mission(the other being Mother's Day). For that reason alone is why I'm really excited this year, and my grandma's going to sleep over on Christmas Eve so she can talk with my sis (unfortunately, I have to lend my room to her, since it's the closest to the bathroom; at least I can just hijack Artsy's bed and bunk with my other sister Marshmallow Wings).
And, well, I guess that's it. I hope you guys are looking forward to some neat traditions that you do in your respective homes.
So glad that you picked up the story! I'm a proud PartyFavor shipper, and reading the story again made me smile at the lovely interactions between them. I can't wait for more!
