Wowie. I know it may seem like I've been dead recently, but it's really quite the opposite. While much of my schedule is occupied by work or friends, I've actually found a good, uninterrupted slot in my day to work on OSha, and I've made some remarkable progress in the past two months.
While the word counts above aren't particularly impressive, know that Chapter 1 has all the planning done and only needs the content filled in (...properly. I'm taking my time). Chapter 6, on the other hand, is almost fully planned out, and I know I've said this before but I am so excited for this part of the story. The setting is one I've been waiting forever to show off and the conflict of this chapter, similarly, is one I've been planning since I first started the story.
Furthermore, the rewrite of Chapter 1 is shaping up great as well. I'd give you an excerpt, but... I'm not really sure what section would be the best to share. I don't want to spoil some of the little surprises; overall I think it's better when experienced all at once. It should be complete by the end of the month and Chapter 2 will be soon behind, as it hasn't been changed quite as radically.
For those of you who have checked out the "Unofficial Soundtrack" for Of Shadows, good news! I am continuously updating and editing the playlist, and the most recent overhaul has removed much of the bloat and is now loosely based on the plot, only up until Chapter 5. More music will be added as the story progresses; I've taken great pains to keep the music balanced between genres and paces.
I've also created a separate playlist for Southern Equestria's radio! Here you can find some of the music featured in the story, as well as additional music I've added that could be heard if you tune your PipBuck to the right frequency. Some are there to add flavor, others... might have pertinent lyrics (especially following the updated 1 & 2), who knows? I won't be telling you which ones... 
No changelog this month, as all my efforts have been put towards the two in-progress chapters. Yay!
