Surgery done... · 3:36pm Sep 20th, 2017
I’m back home after getting up at 4:45 for this and dragging my gym friend out of bed to drive me there and back. Took a little more than three hours after I walked in the hospital door. Little pain so far and no need for the crutches they gave me as I’m walking fine without them. That may change as the painkiller they gave at the time wears off, but so far, so good.
I will be napping this afternoon, however, and sleeping off the remaining anesthetic in my system, which leaves you loopy for a while after. No driving or operating heavy machinery in the meantime. Which is a shame, considering there’s a bulldozer right down the walking trail from me!
I appreciated all the well-wishes on my last blog! After I’ve napped, we’ll see how I feel and if I need any Oxycontin for pain. Nothing like an opioid as far as drugs go, believe me...
And then we’ll see what writing I feel like doing, whether TLaTU or Firefly or neither. And on the subject of Firefly, the story reached two milestones: it topped 50 likes and 100 tracks this weekend. Thank you, all new readers!
Glad to hear it's going alright.
Good to hear you're on the road to recovery.
It's a shame you won't be drive the bulldozer I sent you in the mail. At least there's always tomorrow!
Glad to hear things are better now!
Glad to hear there were no complications during the surgery. Hopefully you won't need too many painkillers.
With post-surgery disorientation, you might think you drove the bulldozer later today.
Onward coach!
