    It's late

But my brain isn't quiet. I'm stoned out of my goddamn gourd. Don't worry, it is just my usual regimen of drugs. That's how I spent a lot of my time now. Wasted. Doesn't really help with the pain much, but makes it a bit more tolerable. All of my drugs cost over 5 grand a month. That's what it takes to keep me going. I'm in somewhat better shape because of all of it, and there's a few bright

    Cyborgification is potentially a-go

Finally found a doctor that didn't run screaming upon seeing my spine images and xrays. The team is coming together. Met with the neurosurgeon the other day, and he thinks I am an ideal candidate for augmentation. The transition is happening, I think. I still have to pass a psych evaluation and other steps, but I am closer now than ever. First I'll have the trial run; they'll sink electrodes into

I suppose it is time for an update

Been meaning to this, and I've become the King of Pro-Crasty Nation. I kept wanting to report, but there was nothing to report, no good news at all, so I just... didn't. Sorry. Went a bit silent on my end. It just sorta happened.

I finally got a lawyer willing to take up my case. After that, things started happening.

Has anybody figured out what Boxcars' magical talent is yet? It is a major focus of the story and it has been hinted at so far. Her brother, Domino, has the same talent.

How do such helpless little waifs survive such statistically long odds?

I'm guessing their talent is probability manipulation in their own favor. AKA Luck.

I was thinking luck. As soon as you said Domino I was thinking of the X-Force member in the comics who has that exact power.

I'll come out and say it. I had no idea it was a magic thing.

I'd have to agree though i doubt its as simple as they in particular have amazingly good luck. As sneaky as Kudz is they likely have the ability to manipulate probability in either direction and for other ponies, not just themselves. Think about it this way, Flicker takes one of them out to train and they run into the kinda outlandish bad luck that Flicker always does, Boxcars does her little hoodoo and suddenly Fickers extreme bad luck is counter acted and suddenly we have a situation where Flicker is only needing a few stitches instead of having his hide regrown.

I remember reading a book series by some published author about vampires in new york, etc etc. It was an interesting take mostly because in some cases, long lived vampires had certain 'quirks'. Like advanced healing, extra speed, etc.

In one case, one of the elders had something that wasn't quite precognition - but more an ability to read 'chances'. Such as, the protagonist had a 20% chance of attacking them, but after someone said something, the chance increased to 80%, and she could sense that change and pinpoint it to a certain degree.

I feel like the talents of these two kids is something that is more of a subconscious manipulation of probabilities - generally in their favor, but with a quid pro quo. A bit like the 'luck' thing people are describing, but different.

Luck Obviously. Or somehow manipulating the odds in their favor on an instinctual or subconscious level. I'd love to see it put up against Sumac's Grift

Sumac's grift magic is connected to luck, but it is mostly channeled through spoken words. Though Sumac does have enhanced probability manipulation, to some small degree. (It is how he plays cards so well.) But the probability manipulation aspect of his talent is rather low.

Clover the Clever had luck as a talent, and she accidentally founded a nation after accidentally ending the windigo threat. Such is the power of luck.

Can you Imagine the power of these two working with Either the Underwatch (which i get the distinct feeling we are going to see) or with Sumac and Co. To be honest I get slightly terrified thinking about these two working with Gosling and his retinue.... and the thought of them working with Tarnish and Maud???? Shiver inducing.

4668231
All four of these characters will be appearing in The Underwatch.

Doctor Needle and Doctor Bunsen are disease specialists and are needed in Canterlot after the utter destruction of the guild.

4668234
I just had a terrifying thought.... Sumac's Grift coupled with Pebbles very obvious ability to plan ahead, tied together with Boxcar and Domino's ability? if indeed their abilities extend to others upon command this could lead to Sumac Ruling the world with Pebble and Silver at his side. I think Celestia would be well served making it a royal priority that those four never meet for more than casual passing interactions lol.

Oh, I have no idea ´bout Domino´s talent. Maybe something pizza related.

It´s not like we have a Marvel Female Mutant with the same name and powers that would help us figure out his talent....

:pinkiecrazy:

4668242
Sumac have the idea, Peble makes the plan, and Box and Domino execute it.

Grogar: Shit...ok guys, pack up everything, don´t forget the silverware. Back to the outter plans we are.

Catarina: The´re just foals master !

G: So say the floating bodyless head...do tell me again how the "just foals" managed to wipe out half of my army AND vaporize your body ?

C: They were lucky...

G: My point exactly...don´t forget to turn off the lights on your way out...

Well, just as long as it isn't as effective as it is for Ernie Shea from the Callahan's series. Dude could drop kick a point-down dart directly away from the board and still hit a bull's eye... and that was when he was trying to miss!

4668250
Can you imagine what would happen if they teamed up with Cadance or Twilight on one of her more manic days? one would end with the total destruction of the world the other would end with a population boom that would fix the mare to stallion ratio.... sad thing is I'm not sure which one would go which way lol.

4668253
* brains goes in overdrive from lack of sleeping *

OH, OH, I KNOW ! :pinkiecrazy: Magic-induced-luck-boosted orgy in world-wide level. The world wouldn´t end.

IT. WILL.BLOW !!!! :rainbowwild:

AIM YOUR CANONS MATES, IF YOU KNOW WACHA I MEAN ! :rainbowlaugh::ajsleepy::applecry:

4668267
you realize of course that we may have just given Kudz an idea that he cannot get away from.... perhaps two even with the other scenario that you put forth lol.

haven't read the latest chapter or seen enough of Domino to make a guess there. I tend to agree on a number of the guesses here about Boxcars her talent is luck. Which depending on how strong it is could've been bad luck for Dr Needles

No, it has to definately be pizza related.
Is their special talent hosting a really good game night?

4668351
Fantastic idea, too bad they never had a fantastic game night to trigger their cutie marks to appear.

4668352

It happened when they were in windia right? Maybe their parents won them back in a wager?

4668357
You know, that just puts me in a bad mood, because what you are suggesting completely invalidates all of my hard work to show that they had good parents. I think I'm done here. It's just not funny.

Considering when Dominos mark appeared not sure what if anything he had done.. As to their parents there are plenty of clues they had good parents. boxcars can remember being hugged and safe stallions. While they might now be the great unwanted both were in good enough health starting out it helped them survive the journey..
Though if we consider Weedworld universe in general there are great forces working to bring their forces to bear against each other. This disease is likely a prong of Gorgar's attack thier survival is could be just luck or the opposing side ensuring their pieces aren't killed before they can be brought to bear

I haven't read this story so I'm going off what little context clues I can glean that their talents are passive causality manipulation to heighten the chance of a specific outcome.

Like luck manipulation but with much more butterflies.

4668362

Oh don't get upset, you are a great author and we are engaged. The story is nice, and the world building is great. The children have moxy and the characters are believable and are well written.

Clearly their parents were nice. But there has to be some reason right?

I was thinking that they had to make some kind of terrible gamble just to keep the children alive and together. Like sophie's choice. Windia under the Grittish sounds awful.

(Villian with Gritish accent:) "You're going to hang tomorrow. Tell you what, If you win this wager I'll keep the children together in an orphanage. Otherwise its off to the mines."

Like aniken and obi wan. "Sorry i couldn't save your mother too."

If given the choice between the lady and the tiger, Boxcars will always manage to choose the lady
