So, I have a dilemma.
See, I've been using the English names of the Digimon so they'll be better recognized.
However, I have run into an issue. You see, one of the Royal Knights appearing will be this one:
Now the issue comes with his name. See, in America, his name is Omnimon. That's cool sounding and all, but not that impressive to me.
However, in Japan, his name is Omegamon. This is great for a multitude of reasons. One, his name is cooler, and two, it goes PERFECTLY with Alphamon, who's also going to be appearing as a prominent figure. Their names are a play on the phrase "I am the Alpha and the Omega".
Thing is, Omnimon is better known. EVERYONE who knows Digimon knows that name, while not everyone knows about Omegamon.
But the symbolism of the names is TOO PERFECT! I want to that name so BADLY!
So I turn it over to my readers. Which one would you prefer?
Omnimon because that's the name we all grew up with?
or
Omegamon because of symbolism.

For the sake of symbolism, I would have to go with Omegamon.

I prefer the Japanese names anyway, so Omegamon.
I prefer Japanese names (and reading Gatomon made me cringe), but I prefer even more consistency. So if you're using English names, keep using them.

Seeing as i'm pretty sure I was the one who brought this up to you, I'll say Omegamon, as the symbolize was the reason I brought it up.
You're using the English names of the Digimon... ...But you're using the Japanese names for the attacks. My head is sad now.

That said, if coolness is something you care about at all...THEN WHY DIDN"T YOU USE GROWLMON'S ENGLISH ATTACK NAME; PYRO BLASTER.
Seriously, Pyro Blaster is the single coolest attack name for a digimon that isn't a mega, and you go with exhuast flame, LAME!!!
But seriously, go with Omegamon.
I would go with omgamon for two reasons one: the symbolism and two digimon in general stopped calling him omnimon in America. In the most recent game to come to America, Digimon Next Order, he is called omegamon instead of omnimon.
Omegamon. I'm more partial to Omnimon, but, the whole symbolism is too good to ignore.
Why not make both names an element. Have him introduced as Omnimon and then later it's learned he's the Omega
Normally I'm more a fan of the dub, but omegamon is so much cooler. Go with the symbolism.

So I have made my decision. When the time comes, I'm going to go with "Omegamon" for his name, but I plan on putting in the author's notes who he's also known by. That way anyone who DOESN'T know will understand. Symbolism wins out. Thank you to EVERYONE who posted here and gave me their opinions.

another way I can see it playing out is that the species is omnimon, but the omnimon who's a part of the knights is Omegamon, this only really works because a few of the other knights have 2 names (example: Gallant/Dukemon)
Though off the top of my head I'm not sure if any other of the knights have two names to use in this manner.
