I've missed this site. Last year, I went through Some Shit over the summer and fall, and then I got engaged in November to a very nice man.
We get married in five days, and I had noticed a lot of registry gifts coming in all of a sudden with real names attached that I did not recognize.
Germany is kiboshed, unfortunately--lots of rl stuff going on around con-time.
So, instead, I'll be at Bronycon so I'm closer to home :)
Can't wait to see you guys!

I woke up Sunday morning after 2 hrs of sleep in a lot of pain. I tried to tough it out, as I do, but after an hour it was so unbearable I was literally howling in pain. Drove myself to hospital and my gallbladder was hella inflamed and had large stones. So they took it out and I'm home 24 hours later

Yuck, my brother went through that. Just be mindful of all the guidelines they gave you for foods to eat and such. Chicken will be your best friend.
I'm glad you're alright and home safe, Dancer! Just rest and take care of yourself. And know that we are all thinking of you!

In all seriousness though, glad to hear that the surgery went successfully and without any complications! Certainly hope the adjustment to the new diet goes well.
Ouch! Gallstones = no fun. Hope you recover quickly.
The wife had hers out a few years ago. It was giving her fits, they scheduled the operation, and did it outpatient with keyhole surgery. Just a couple of bandaids and a lot of slow moving for a week or two, a *far* cry from when she had her spleen out at age eight or so, and they had to nearly chop open her whole side.
We're old enough the warranty is running out on our parts.
This really has been one of those years for you, hasn't it.
