    Hello, how are you?

It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry. I hope that you're well.

10 months since I last blogged. Shall I catch you up a little?

It's been a long December and there's reason to believe...

Maybe this year will be better than the last.

I'd say more, but let's not tempt fate, she seems to be having a rough year too.

    Have you voted yet?

This isn't an endorsement, I have no facts and figures to offer you, no scandals to mention. I'll just say that this election may well be the most noteworthy in quite some time for the turnout, and early voting is still happening tomorrow. If you mailed yours in, check to make sure it was received. If it wasn't, there is still time to vote in person and cancel the mail in. No matter how you do

A Name That Will Live In Infamy · 6:30pm Aug 30th, 2017

Well, that was a thing. I type this miles from home, staying with my parents because my personal cave has been without power for close to a week now, and might continue to be for a while yet.

I live in South Texas, in the Corpus Christi area specifically, and it feels like a giant called Harvey just barreled past my city and left big old footprints in its wake just inches from me.

I didn't lose my apartment, such as it is, I didn't lose any belongings other than every bit of food in my fridge and freezer. Worst thing I lost was three days work for myself and my wife, which admittedly hurts but it's not unrecoverable. My job might even pay for that, which is good.

I have lost a ton of time I would have liked to use to be writing, which is frustrating. I can't write on a phone, assuming I can keep it charged up and the signal holds. And while dictaphone is a thing, it's not easy to use it to write feelsy lesbian shower scenes.

But I survived. I even had power for a good bit, and after it went out there was a small generator to keep phones charged. I was so lucky to be just outside the path of true destruction.

Gonna drop a link here, if any of you would like to help the people of Houston, who were not nearly so lucky.

Were any of you in the path? How are you doing?

Having made it through Hurricane Sandy and seeing how little support we got? I am praying you and everyone else make it out okay cause these hurricanes are no joke. I remember after sandy all the devastating images I saw. Entire houses caved in. Downed power lines. Trees fallen on houses and in the streets. Looting the entire nine yards. Keep dry and stay safe

Glad you're all right.

There's an app called Jotterpad that is really good for writing on phones. Might help out.

More or less, I suppose! :B

Glad to hear you're okay. It sucks hearing how many people were affected by this terrible disaster.

".... And while dictaphone is a thing, it's not easy to use it to write feelsy lesbian shower scenes...."

"...then Rainbow Dash got out the conditioner and began to rub it into Twilight's flanks with long, circular--"

"Daddy, what are flanks?"

"They're on the sides of ponies, around the back. About where their cutie marks are. Now work on your coloring book like your sister while I finish writing my story."

"Yes, Daddy."

"Okay, where was I?"

"RD was 'pooing her butt."

"Ahhh... Yeah. Tell you what, Sweet Pea. Why doesn't daddy work on his story later and we can count stalled cars by the side of the road while I drive?"

I live in central Florida. The memories of 2004's hurricane season, which smashed in the back of my house, still resonate with me. (If circumstances were just a tiny bit different, I would have gotten squashed by a fallen tree. Fun-a-fun-fuuun!:pinkiecrazy:)
Any day above ground's a good one. Stay safe, buddy.

We got lucky. League City was one of the hardest hit areas, but our house stayed high and dry. We were able to get out and drive around for the first time today; it was bad. I was here for Ike and I thought that was nasty. This blows that out of the water (no pun intended).

At least we didn't lose power. Houses won't be rotting in the humidity for weeks like Katrina. I know Houstonians; we'll bounce back quicker than you would imagine.
