I Need To Make Something Clear

I know I've been very absent lately but I still give advice to writers now and again as PMs. Lately there's been a problem which I need to remedy.

    My OCs are my own.
Characters such as Cascadius, Colonel Peregrine, Nancy, Blue Murder, Tybalt, Shadowplay, Tungsten and others.

    Putting My Webcomic Out There

Hi guys. Just to show you what I've been working on all this time.
Deviantart and Tumblr are a bit...let's say shaky right now in terms of putting your art out there and I've been looking for more specialised sites for my webcomic.
So I've finally got a Tapas page.
    The Tale Of Cao Aman

    27 Today And Some News

Hi everybody. Sorry I've been so distant lately.
Twenty-Seven years old today...and I'm told I still look seventeen. Don't ask me what my secret is, I'm just as puzzled, but not complaining.

So I've Heard About The Rings Of Power

So I'm actually quite looking forward to The Rings Of Power, the soon-to-be cinematic series based on Tolkien's Middle-Earth lore. The Lord of the Rings is probably my favourite film trilogy and, while it's debated to this day, I really enjoyed The Hobbit series.
And there's something I feel I need to say...

This one took me a while.

Another nasty piece of work. :twilightangry2:
Sigh...What is with me and coming up as many despicable pieces of filth I can? :unsuresweetie:
Oh well, I'm hoping to have as many heroes getting a cut of the action later so I suppose there'll be more to go around.
Poor Sembel over there.
I've a mind to add her to the Tearjerker Tropes Page. :fluttershbad:
Later we'll be seeing the Jotnar Legion facing off against Shining Armour and the Crystal Legions.
Those guys are serious.

Perfect (German) name for a elephant

4458827 Thanks, I'm quite pleased with it.
His overall dress sense is based off Babylonian culture but the Ivorium Empire stole aspects of every culture they conquer so they don't really have a real-world equivalent.
It's better that way.

4458850 Do what you think is best. About my progress, I write at Capter three of Scotch's story at the moment. In Project Horizons, she shows a lot of bravery for her age, but still in my story, fears takes over when she sees the brutallity of the KPA

4458854 Sounds decent so far.

4458856 Thanks. Is based on this scene of the game

4458859 Looks good but I'd have it so that it's set in KPA Occupied Korea.
(I find Homefront's premise of 'North Korea's taken over America' rather forced and quite unrealistic)
Much better to highlight the KPA's cruelty by showing what they do to their own people.
That's just my opinion. It's like those videos you showed me about the SS and Gestapo terrorising the German populace and the actual soldiers trying to stop them. It's a lot more frightening when it's their own country and their own people the villains are oppressing.
And, as always, capture the emotions shown. Don't stop at simply describing how it looks, describe how it feels. That's what's most important.

4458869 Of course. For the scene, acording to the game storyline, this was done as a response to the resistance's advances in the region, and the reistance actions are usually met with severe reparations, bringing more violence to the civilian population and the creation of stricter laws. Many civillians have a bad view if the resistance because of this. But not to worry, she gets saved by the resistance the same way as the player character and sees how they save him.
I have a scene planed where KPa soldiers turn against the 718 Division, he KPA's version of the USA's Delta Force ingame. They are nown to be extremely violent toward prisoners, with one detainee warning they would "just as soon kill you as look at you."

SS and Gestapo, well, in my story with Sweetie Belle, the Wehrmacht who found her, fights SS and Gestapo to protect her. Of course, never suspect it was one of their own soldiers. For Flute and Ruby, I have a smiliar scene if you're interested.

4458913 I see. Infighting in the military regimes is a good idea. It shows how their influence and control is wavering.
PM me any more ideas if you like. I'll let you know my opinions on them.

4458918 I will. I could be wrong but as far as know soldiers excecute such a oder like kill a civilian bevause they scared the same fate meets them or their family should they refuse

4458923 Exactly. It's always worth establishing the fact that they aren't just stereotypical cackling henchman doing it for the lols.

4458926 Yes. On a story with Rumble, wgich I wrote i overcame a writer blockade in the story where all land into one Equestria, in the game story it's based on, you have to destroy a military power station which the diactor orders a Retaliation on a town which you must defend. The soldier (Named Marco) who found Rumble takes part in it but never believed into the propaganda. when the order comes, I described it like this, based on the Journal in Star Wars battlefront 2

The trip was silent. They all knew what was about to happen, what they were about to do. Did they have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not Marco, Luca (Marco's best friend), or any other soldier. Not on the trip to Costa Del Porto, not when the order came to burn it, and not when they reached the town. Not a word.

4458939 Ah, Costa Del Porto?
This is Just Cause 3, isn't it?!
Love that game. Though I feel like they basically just changed Rico into Ezio from Assassin's Creed. His character is way different to how it was before.
Make sure to include a scared David Tennant spouting propaganda on the radio (And have Rumble mention he sounds just like Dinky's dad :rainbowlaugh:)

4458955 Nice to hear you know that game. Of course I have that covered with the radio. I love how Tennant freaks out on the radio:rainbowlaugh:

is he an elephant or a gomphothere?

4459228 Gomphothere (Note the lower jaw extending to the end of his trunk. They're not the prettiest of beasts)
In my fic, the Ivorium Empire is led by prehistoric proboscids. The present-day elephants tend to be peaceful creatures and were among the first races in Zebrica the empire set about enslaving, relegating them to lower-class citizens.

4459241 I thought so, but i wasn't sure how liberal hybridization was in this universe.

led by prehistoric proboscids

Damn it, now i'm imagining a bunch of Moeritherium waddling around and managing to be cute while telling the slaves that they aren't working fast enough

4459249 Ah no, the Moeritherium don't partake. It's mostly Deinotherium, Gomphotherium, Platybelodon and a few others. The Ivorium Empire favours the tusk, which is treated like a unicorn's horn, capable of elephant magic.
The first thing they did was drive the mammoths and mastodons in Zebrica to extinction, the giant beasts being the only ones that could threaten them.
Their armies are made up of rhinos with the 'Skull-Horns' (Prehistoric rhinos with horns actually made up of bone: eg. brontotheres, embolotheres, uintatheres and arsoitheres) being placed on higher class duties such as guards, overseers and butlers while 'Horn-Skulls (Modern-day rhinos) are relegated to slave positions.

4459256 Okay, serious comment:

brontotheres, embolotheres, uintatheres and arsoitheres

...none of those are rhinos (though admittedly Brontotheres are in the same group which contains equines, rhinos, tapirs, and chalicotheres)...and i think Embolotheres and Arsinotheres are the same, AND they're actually closely related to elephants.

and Silly comment:

The Ivorium Empire favours the tusk, which is treated like a unicorn's horn, capable of elephant magic.

*tiny tusk noises*

4459309 It's fine. I see your point. How to explain?
It's more what the empire 'classify' as elephants or rhinos than anything else. They are, amongst other things, highly discriminatory and will happily declare their own kin unrelated or half-related to further their own gains.

4459362 fair enough.

also, just did a post on a famous fire-breather

4459375 *Looks at it*
...Uh-oh...
