And my last blog should give a hint but I'll flat out say it, I am in no mood to deal with that debate from years ago about crossing Mente Materia with TSC. So, please keep your comments curteous and regarding the chapters events, not the meta debate about the decisions I've made as an author.

Instead of saying anything about the Sweetie stuff, I'll instead talk about how I finally, finally got and started playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown a couple of weeks ago. I've been interested in it since your story caught my fancy, but I've never really enjoyed tactical strategy games before, so I'd been wary... but now I'm wondering why I ever was. It's such a good game. I am facing the Uber Ethereal literally right now, lol. It's so weird to actually know what Shen and Bradford look like; for some reason, I'd always imagined them being vaguely big-boned. Don't know why. Are the other named characters in the story from Enemy Within, which I don't have? Or were they just randomly generated soldiers that you liked?
Sorry this is a bit off-topic, but I really wanted to let you that you've finally gotten me to actually play the damn game, lol.

4447219 Does that require Enemy Within? I'd actually tried to find mods for Enemy Unknown, hoping for a co-op mod, but I hadn't been able to find any. Not sure how co-op would work in a turn-based tactical strategy game, but it would've been neat, lol.
[Edit] Nvm, found it — looks like it does require Enemy Within. That's unfortunate, because holy shit, it's practically a whole expansion pack on its own.

I have to say I like your version better, The D is all fine and dandy but it seems to be slightly off for personalities, although as I recall TSC Belle did show up at a very dark time. It'll be interesting to see how he addresses the setting as that is often what brings me the most enjoyment of TSC is the subtext and commentary he squeaks into the story.
I'm still eagerly awaiting your continuation though Arad.
Ah, yes. That crossover thing. The comments back then were a freakin' warzone, IIRC. Meh. I never read TSC, but that didn't keep me from appreciating this little arc.
4447208 Shaojie Zhang is a unique soldier you can obtain with the Slingshot DLC.
Annette Durand is also a unique character you can indeed obtain in Enemy Within. There's also three dudes (Matthew Hawkins, Sayid Tariq and Fatima Tariq) that you can obtain after a mission related to her, but despite always starting with the same names and appearances, they are not considered uniques characters and can be customized just like any other soldiers.
Every other human characters appearing in the... Menteverse? aren't official XCOM characters.
Well, except Vahlen, Van Doorn and the Council Spokesman, of course.

I'd recommend Enemy Within anyway. MECs alone are so worth it, and EXALT helped mix up the opposition a bit, particularly in Long War where they are so insanely deadly.

Why didn't you just grab XCOM:Enemy Within? You'll be missing out on some pretty big chunks of gameplay.
As far as I've played, none of the named characters in EW are different from EU. It's all just mechanics.

Enemy Unknown was on sale, Enemy Within was not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'll get Within eventually, just not right now. For the moment, my monthly game-buying budget has been spent on Horizon Zero Dawn.

Translating of Mente Materia are at half, Stardust's translation are still under edit. It was harder than i think because english and estonian language's structure are so different. Hope to release it at June in Algernon.
