Let me tell you a story.
There was once an eleven-year-old girl who had been a fan of My Little Pony all throughout her childhood. In fact, she was so into it, she discovered the world of FanFiction at that simple, young age. She became fascinated by the different stories and worlds that people had written out for readers like herself, and took the inspiration to write her very own small short story.
Turns out, people didn't like her stories very much. She was constantly getting hate on her writing, and she was on the verge of quitting the world of FanFiction.
She took a break for a while, and decided to commit her time to reading stories. This lasted for many months, before she finally set herself in front of her computer, cleared out her story archive, and started fresh with brand new concepts.
She wrote like she never had before. Her fingers flew over the keys as she wrote and wrote and wrote.
For years she wrote, gaining more popularity with every story she published. She opened up to people on the internet, made friends, and had a blast. Life was good.
Then, one day, a fellow author of hers recommended this new site. A site that specialized in FanFiction for the MLP fandom. It was called FiMfiction.net, and the girl was captivated by all the authors and stories there. She didn't hesitate to make herself an account, calling herself by her penname, 'RDcrystalheart'.
Don't worry, it only gets cheesier from here.
The girl wrote for a variety of ships; her writing started improving greatly as the years passed. She had fully devoted herself to writing for the fandom.
Then, things took a downturn.
At around her one year anniversary on FiMfiction, things started happening for the worse in her real life.
School became too much, drama and all that became a greater part of her life. Schedules and grades started taking over, and the girl basically had a giant stress-attack.
As you might already know, the girl suffered and went through a rough part in her life at one point, and once she started getting better, her in real life appearance only started getting worse. She was a mess. She couldn't concentrate in class because she was too busy thinking about her internet life. She became tired, and soon gained an addiction towards sitting in front of her computer for hours on end, trying to meet deadlines for school, and her fics.
She thought making a schedule for one of her fics, Happiness and Tears, would help her, but it only became worse as time went on.
Okay. Now let me give you the explanation I so directly owe you.
I've lost interest in this show, to put it bluntly. I'm not an avid fan of My Little Pony anymore, and when I was, I was closeted.
Honestly, I lost interest about halfway through season 6. I only continued going because of my writing. I only watched the show for my writing. I only kept on MLP for my writing.
But then my writing became too much for me. With the whole schedule business I put out, writing stories like Happiness and Tears became a chore. I felt obliged into writing for hours on Saturday nights, and neglected my school work which was far more important.
My real life became my alternate life, instead of the other way around, and I thought I could fix this by taking a break.
So I did.
I took a break from all MLP-related writing for about a month, and just a few days ago I came to my decision. That I would cancel my ongoing stories and quit the fandom.
I've been thinking about this for a long time. In fact, before the New Year I had an extensive conversation with my artist, (and best friend), and we both agreed that this would be for the best.
When I announced my decision to her yesterday, we were both extremely relieved.
To be honest, I felt a huge weight lifted from my shoulders once I did what I did. I never felt more happy and free from all my years as an author, and I just felt, overall, good.
Now, this does NOT mean I have quit writing. In fact, it is quite the opposite. I will continue writing, like I have done to this day, just not for this specific fandom. I'm opening my range to different fandoms and shows that you may or may not have already heard of.
I will continue writing on my Archive Of Our Own (AO3) account, so if you're still interested in reading my writing, I highly recommend keeping yourself updated with my page. I'm constantly publishing new stories for the public eye.
Please do not think badly of me because of this. You need to understand my reasons and understand why I have decided to do this.
I'm still going to watch the show, and may or may not still read fics from the fandom, but I am just not going to be writing for it. Not for a long while, at least. Maybe one day I'll come back and finish the stories that I have put on cancellation.

I fully respect your decision and choise, but also as a reader I find it pretty sad that you leave now. Especially your story "I'll wait for you" has won my heart real quick ... and now it's canceled!

For what is worth, I really liked your stories, and some of the first stories I read in this website were the Rainbow Dash x Soarin Skies paring stories (really good stories in my opinion, and I was sad when you deleted them). Well, I hope to read some stories of yours in Fanfiction (when I actually do feel like going back there).

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear this, and your mlp writing has been so inspirational, and I completely understand that stress can take over.. I think that you have made a very mature and brave choice, and I wish you all the best for the future.
It's for the best for you, so I'll wish you luck with other things. I agree that MLP isn't getting any better in season 6, and I understand why you may lose interest. But as you'll probably not be coming back to this account, can you please, please, please recover a few of your older stories? I loved the A Dash of Happiness Soared Through the Skies trilogy, and I was so sad to see it gone, and I've been wishing to see it back for a long time.

Well shit. I'm a closeted fan too but I've been watching the show since earlyish season 2. I don't think I'm even going to stop but since you lost interest in writing your stories about mlp then that's perfectly fine :)
I was waiting for the day I'll Wait for You would be continued, now, it will never be continued, I had such, high hopes for it, right when it was getting to it's most clamatic point, it's cancelled, and now ink left us.

Well, that explains a lot. I just want you to know that no matter what you do, I will be behind you. This is your choice and I can try to stop you, but I CAN'T gat you to like the show again. Your stories were amazing and I will definitely check out you fan fiction account.
