Hope everyone's having a good 2017!
I'm finally getting around to blogging what I updated people on Skype about, but here's the short of it: last November, I cut up my hand pretty bad helping a friend fixing his car. Had to go in for some minor surgery, and everything seemed okay.
Last December, as the year was wrapping up, I started getting sick while my hand started getting very sore and... unpleasant to look at. Had to go back into the hospital and it turned out I'd gotten an infection during/after the surgery. Was serious enough that I spent a fair spell in the hospital. Was not a pretty sight.
Good news is that I just now got the last of my stitches out after one last bout of treatment a little while ago, and I've made a full recovery. Glory to me and my mediocre immune system. This means I'll be back to being (relatively) active, will get back on top of my outdated messages, and otherwise see about making more progress now that it doesn't hurt just to type.
Now, onward to 2017!

Damn... you getting sick as hell from an infection after surgery... That sux.
Good to know that you are doing better though. (Ironically, seems you and I ended up in the hospital around the same time)
