Yep, it's that time again. It's the anniversary of the story that started it all:
While Pinkie is walking around Ponyville with Sombra, who she is tasked to watch over until he is reformed, she sees a pony has recently moved into Ponyville without her previous knowledge. So, Pinkie does the only thing she sees fit- she greets the pony with a crazy amount of confetti and cake batter. In doing so, she ruins his clothes and has to take him shopping at Carousel Boutique.
Man, it's hard to believe that's been three years... Time keeps flying so fast. I wanna say thanks to all the people who stuck with me along the way, and even give thanks to those who didn't. We all grow in our own ways and I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the same person I was back when I first started writing fic for my crazy ship.
Let's flashback, you guys.
Cut back to me, an awkward freshman struggling to get through her first year of high school. Stifled by my ASD, anxiety and bouts of depression, getting through high school was a rough go for me. But, despite this, I found solace in the fictional worlds that took me away from reality. Equestria was one of them.
My first story was a veiled attempt at interjecting myself into the world that brought us all together, my character sadly representing... well, me. It wouldn't be until later that I gave the story the resolution it deserved.
Then, as I roamed through the site, I came across it. The story that took control of my writing and captivated my imagination.
When Sombra, ex-ruler of the Crystal Empire, is discovered alive and well, Twilight has her hooves full keeping the tyrannical king in check. Instead of the original plan of throwing him in a dungeon or banishing him to Tartarus, Celestia decides to go with the plan that worked out well enough for Discord.
To reform Sombra.
Pinkie takes the job, and gets right to work in helping Sombra become a better pony. Will Sombra finally change from his old, wicked ways and reform? Or will he instead strangle the annoying, pink menace known as Pinkie Pie?
Good God, RainbowBob, how you ruined my life. You just HAD to make me fall in love with a pairing that had no hopes of ever even coming close to interacting with each other in canon aside from being in the same breathing space in for part of a single episode. And then I just HAD to take my own spin on the pairing to sate my own needs.
Little did I know what I had just fallen into...
Story upon story upon story, and my kick had yet to die down... Not even my own lack of motivation could keep down the story maker that was going at full force at all hours of the day. Do you have any idea how hard it was to concentrate in Algebra when my mind kept making silly AUs for my silly pairing?
Anyway... point I wanna make is, thank you all for putting up with my nonsense year-round. There are times where I am so quiet that y'all think I'm dead, and then I come back with a series of different stories in tow. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who shares my love for the pair, considering I still get some comments every now and again on my old stories.
To sum this up... Thanks you guys. I really mean it.
