Happy thanksgiving! · 4:59am Nov 21st, 2016
Howdy everybody, everybody's favorite farm mare here, good to see y'all again! It's November again, and that means the season of turkey and stuffing. I'm cooking up quite a dinner for my own family, and boy have I made a mess out of the kitchen! Do you know how long you have to watch that blasted bird in the oven? And I've got the foals swarming around the kitchen, while Lighting and his brother are sitting in the den, chowing down on Nachos and cheese dip and swilling root beer, while watching the Bright Valley hoofball game on the television. I've just burned the cornbread, under cooked the stuffing, and forgot to put the apple pie in the oven! Alarms and buzzers ringing in my ears, children screaming and running around, and stallions arguing over a touchdown in the other room... yeah, this holiday has been mighty fine for me, hah hah. And to think, Christmas is coming up....ugh
Oh, y'all didn't know Ponyland ponies celebrate thanksgiving? Well, it was a human holiday brought over by Megan, which gained a lot of popularity here in the confederacy- y'know, giving thanks to almighty B'zekre and all. But we already celebrated the fall festival of color this season, and we just added the feasting and football onto the ways to celebrate! See, we have a ritual every year, where the rainbow monks gather from all over Ponyland, to perform a magic ritual that infuses Ponyland with all of it's bright colors for the coming year. You see, the ceremony draws upon all the joy and happiness the ponies of the confederacy have built up from over the previous year, and infuse it into nature to create the colors of the rainbow into nature, so the world doesn't slip into a dull grey for the coming year. That's what turns all the leaves in the northern lands their bright and beautiful colors; that powerful burst of color briefly brightens up nature for a fleeting few weeks, before all of those leaves fall from the trees, to begin the long and snowy sleep of winter.
Ow! I burned my hooves getting the green beans out of the oven! Look, I really need to go, okay? I have a HUGE dinner to serve, followed by the family leaving our castle apartment to go take part in Dream Valley's fall festival parade. So, why don't all of you have a very happy thanksgiving, and stop back to talk to Paradise about the holiday more when she gets back to Dream Castle next week? Now if y'all will exuse me, I've got to stop a filly from trying to steal some apple pie. So have a happy thanksgiving, okay?
BABY APPLEJACK, YOU GET YOUR HOOVES OUT OF THAT DESSERT THIS INSTANT!
