Mid-Hiatus EL Update · 12:16am Nov 5th, 2016
Hi everyone!
I'm here to give a small update on what's going on with writing.

First, let's get the bad news over with.
I have not been able to write a jillion words per day as I'd initially hoped. This is because work got a bit intense the past few weeks, as well as some emotional issues I've had to deal with. I've also had to deal with my life taking an... interesting turn, as I am leaving my job in the next few months, and if all goes well, I will be moving to Los Angeles in February-March! I even have a potential roommate already who is actually a fellow fimfic writer! I don't want to really say here who it is until it's set in stone, but I'm super excited 'cause they're suuuuuper nice and fun and aaaaaah!
Now, for the good news, and also me trying to shoo off the common "HIATUS MEANS DEAD" fears.
Despite the workload, I've been doing great progress with Enchanted Library, both writing and emotionally. A huge issue I had with writing EL is that it could be a very emotionally taxing affair, and it really did help to put me off MLP fandom, but these past few weeks have been really different for me. The fact that there's really no pressure means that I feel a lot more comfortable writing the story and keeping to the vision I want it to have.
Chapters 20 and 21 are both finished, and I've already done the main outline for Chapter 23 all in the span of two weeks! The only time I've had two chapters written before posting were Chapters 1 and 2 back in February of last year! I feel so accomplished and happy and, most of all, motivated to write. More than I have been in a really, really long time because now I'm really motivated to do it for myself, and not because I feel like I have to.
I really honestly feel this hiatus is what I needed to recharge my batteries from the fandom and my own demons, and I'm super excited for the future.
Well, no, I'm still scared, but at least I'll have already written it ;P
Anyway, that's basically the gist of it. I should hopefully be back on the 1st of January with a little backburner to deal with my potential move and the like. Thanks as always for your support <3

Oh wow, congratulations on the move in a few months! I hope it all works out nicely and that LA treats you well.
And super congratulations on reaching that goal of having two chapters prewritten! Seriously, go you! I'm glad that you're feeling recharged, motivated, and comfortable with writing EL right now. It makes me happy to know that you're having those more positive feelings behind the words, rather than feeling stressed!
