Sometimes.... I do actually care about downvotes for a story I written... but that's only if I made a story that's I wanted others to somewhat like. But even then I don't really care that much.
However, if I was writing a pure trollfic, then I don't care at all. I'm kinda looking for downvotes for that story.
What are your thoughts?

No I don't care about downvotes at all. If I did I'd always be worrying about what I said, and I can't be bothered to do that.

Down points can be discouraging, but usually it becomes fuel to push me to write better, but I also keep in mind that not everyone is going to like what you write period. It also helps when someone explains why they gave you a down vote to help me become a better writer.
I find downvotes to be inevitable, and slightly discouraging, but I try to look past them.
The people who downvote you are the same bunch that think papa franku is an actual person. Not too bright,with an extra large stick up their anus. They need either a helmet or some lube.

You see, I'm in the whole Crossover setting of FimFiction, and all said and done, people LOVE downvoting without good reason.
Like I've never gotten near as many comments about WHY someone dislikes my story, that equated to the dislike bar.
Then there''s those frivolous few who downvote, just because a character is used, or a tag, and whatnot.
People DO pay attention to downvotes when entering into a story, so that's mostly the reason why I care. Because it DOES affect my readership.
Not really, no. I know I don't have anything up here at the site yet, but I figure that when I do, someone WILL inevitably downvote it because they don't like the idea, or the genre (anthro, whatever).
And I'm not going to let it bother me. Like a lot of folks, I write what I write because I like it, for me.
If other folks like what I write; well, that's just icing on the cake for me.

I think downvotes are hilarious. Some people take themselves so seriously, and some take me very seriously which is an even worse mistake. I have been known to downvote my own story at times.

Not really, no.
Mostly because those dislikes are from assholes like Hamster Master (Hamster McFuckFace) and his group of haters, but it's also because I don't care if they dislike it.
Nah, been downvoted and hated on so many forums, etc over the years I could care less. Frankly it works like this for me:
Downvote = was it someone I usually like and agree with? If so maybe there could be something there.
Downvote = a bastard I hate = I am on the right path.
