Loveliest of Trees... from Fluttershy’s PoV?

I’ve been writing a story from the female’s PoV, and it’s really interesting and fun. It presents a challenge with first person, which is losing the omnipotence you have as the author, and also not projecting omnipotence into the character themselves. It’s challenging but fun.

I'm not dead (other fanfic plug)

I'm not dead. I've been hard at work on another fic. It's an Azur Lane romance fic told from Jean Bart's PoV. I've been super invested in it, so I apologize for ignoring the stories on here. I don't want my momentum on this story to die, because it's been getting great feedback and is a new challenge for me.

A Pirate’s Crush Ch.1 (Azur Lane Jean Bart Romance Fic)

*My name is Jean Bart of the Vichya Dominion. I'm the Dominion's strongest battleship, who needn't rely on anyone but myself. Yet... I've found myself completely infatuated with my commander. I have no clue how this happened. Just the sight of him turns my confidence into a mere facade, yet that feeling is like a drug to me. Confusing and aggravating would be a couple ways to describe it. Now, he

Azur Lane NSFW fic - The Duty of a Secretary

I had inspiration and began an Azur Lane fic called The Duty of a Secretary and wanted to leave a link in case any of you were interested. Nothing blatantly explicit yet, but it's gonna get VERY steamy and sexy in future chapters.

Don't hate me for slacking on the MLP fics. My mind is very sporadic and I jump between projects depending on what I'm feeling.

Another Clip? And thoughts on EG Magic · 4:52pm Aug 9th, 2016

We have another clip from EG4. We're gonna have the whole movie at this rate.

Filthy Rich is shutting the camp down. Something at camp is causing magic to happen. Twilight likes the male counselor. She's having nightmares about Midnight Sparkle.

Honestly, I'm not sure what to expect here. But the magic is really bothering me. Hasbro thinks because they released that short about Sunset being unable to figure out how magic works in this world, they can do whatever with magic. Um... no. Can you explain why everyone in this world doesn't pony up because of equestrian magic? If it is "discovering your true self", it should be like earning your cutie mark, right? What excuse for ponying up will they have this time?

Don't use the excuse that it's a kids movie either. Kids can enjoy movies that are smart and have depth to them, like companies such as Pixar, Dreamworks, and Illumination have shown us. Kids are smarter than you think, and will appreciate when things aren't stupid. They will like it when they're treated like mature young minds, and not put off as careless. I was questioning things in movies when I was little, and I thought I was missing something because I was of young mind. But no, sometimes movies just fail to explain things.

I know magic doesn't have a standard model equation to it, but there should at least be some kind of hypothetical rulebook to follow. The magic should be more technical and less in service of the plot, IE whenever the script calls for it. Y'know what I'm saying?

In Rainbow Rocks, the music seems to know when the chorus has started in the song, because it's invariably when they pony up. And when they stop playing in the middle of Welcome to the Show (when the Sirens knock them down), shouldn't they have reverted then? They aren't playing music, right? Oh yeah, the writers forgot about that. They forgot about their own abstract rules, thus rendering them practically null and void.

In Friendship Games, they just couldn't go without the girls transforming couldn't they? And why didn't Sunset ever pony up? The end doesnt count, she transformed at will. The rest of the girls ponied up unexpectedly. You could've had her pony up during a moment of "true self" and give us a hint as to what her element (or purpose) is. That would've been better and more consistant. But the girls just do it out of the blue, and it's annoying. Not just because it's random, but because it labels them as greater beings, demigods really. And by the movies logic, by the way it explains the magic, shouldn't everyone be able to do this? The definition isn't limited just to the main 7, so why does it seem like that anyways? Again, it should be like earning your cutie mark.

Even in the shorts for Rainbow Rocks, shouldn't they go back to normal when they stop playing their instrument? What are the conditions for going back to normal, if any? Each short just ends with them transformed, so what happens after that?

So for this movie, what'll be their excuse? I'm not sure, but the magic is getting a little out of control here. And I'm not talking about in the girls' world. I'm talking about in the perspective of the writers. They have completely lost sight of the rules of magic in the human world that they've just said "Screw it!". Am i wrong?

They appear to have superhero powers in the trailer. What the hell? Seriously? Again, the rules for magic are not specific to the main 7, so shouldn't everyone have something like that? Bulk Biceps gets super strength. Vinyl Scratch maybe has lasers or something because of her affinith for flair with her music. Flash Sentry maybe is like Green Lantern or something. I don't know. The magic is not defined as main 7 specific, so you shouldn't treat it as such.

I would like it if it's Twilight who saves the day in the end by combating and defeating her inner demon (Midnight Sparkle). I have a feeling Gaia Everfree is tied to her somehow. I hope this is Sci-Twi's moment to shine.

The male counselor will be evil in some way. I'm calling it right now.

And I'm glad Fluttershy isn't the love interest, because I had an idea for a CopperShy story at the camp for them. I do feel really bad for Twilight-waifuers though.

That's my two cents. What do you think? Do you agree?

Hmm, I'm still getting that feeling that the female consulor is Gaia, and she will go to some very extreme lengths to keep her forest safe from Filthy. And by extreme, I mean completely loony.:pinkiecrazy: On another note, are you reminded of a Captain Planet villain in Filthy?

Yeah I agree, these movies are beginning to (sorry for the negativity) suck. Inconsistent writing with the magic is inexcusable!

Filthy rich honestly can burn. I hate him already. He's starting to look like every greedy, cliched, old and tired corporate jerk that wants to tear down the environment. God I hate that cliche.

And they really need to start treating their audiences like adults, because some of the logic they conveyed (Perfect example is Friendship Games) is very insulting, and they really need to turn their brains on and come up with actual intelligent writing when it comes to to the magic.

I'm withholding full judgment until I actually see the whole film, but as of right now, I'm still excited for it.

As for how magic works in the human world...eh, I've got some headcanon explanations, but those are just that, headcanon. And those are the only thing keeping me from getting too frustrated with the films refusing to explain things.

Why do their camp shirts look like the Captain Planet shirts?

You're right on every point. The writers don't follow their own rules when it comes to EQ magic. Based on what little has been explained (and then reneged on), everyone in that universe should have the ability, but that's just not the case.

I'm not surprised that they are using Filthy Rich as the "rich, corporate, anti-environment" cliche. If any character would make sense in that role, it would be him (or his wife). I don't mind them using the cliche, since it could be used to draw attention away from the actual villain, Gaia Everfree. Though, this would be better if they hadn't already shown us Gaia Everfree. Also, if Gaia is simply protecting the environment, doesn't that sort of make her at least chaotic neutral, if not outright good, as she is simply protecting her domain? That's a really confusing message. Since the 7 certainly don't need their superpowers to deal with Filthy, they would only be used against Gaia. The more I think about it, the less this plot makes sense.

And at least one of the counselors is evil. Probably both. Gloriosa Daisy has a lot of visual signs which match up with Gaia. And the more I see of Timber Spruce, the more I want to see him get his ass handed to him. My thought is that the "spirit" of Gaia takes over Gloriosa's body after she and her brother call upon the spirit. In the end, they will be forgiven, since they were just trying to protect the environment, which follows on from what I said earlier about Gaia simply protecting her domain. Another shallow redemption, and a very confusing moral.

And you're right about Twilight fans. First they had to put up with Flashlight, now Timberlight. At least they can live with the fact that Princess Twilight and Sci-Twi are technically different beings.

4140632 Probably a joke relating to how Filthy seems like a classic Captain Planet style villain in this movie.

Hmmm... I'm conflicted.

Y'know? It really sucks to have such an anticipated movie suck so much, and realize that before it's even released.

I agree.

It's not even trlhe lack of rules that pisses me off, it's the lack of consequences for using magic, by all logic they should be carted of by the government
