Updates of a personal variety, as well as a few writing things · 10:49pm Jun 3rd, 2016
Putting in a break for those who don't want me to vomit personal baggage related to my last few blogs all over their feed.
Okay, so, fun stuff the last few days. And by that, I mean it was about as fun as being repeatedly kicked in the balls.
You see, on Tuesday, my granddad had surgery to remove one of several tumors from his brain. Now, those of you who read the initial blog might be saying "Hey, Zom, you said there were three tumors on the first blog! What gives?" Well, there's a funny story about that.
I was misinformed. There were not three. There were goddamn several. Like, I have several stories on this site. I have several hockey jerseys. I have several (hundred) reasons I won't go see Batman vs Superman.
That sort of several.
So, they removed the one on Tuesday. The old bastard made it through surgery (don't cheer yet, we're not done with this tale) and they tested the tumor and found that it wasn't cancerous.
Seriously, don't cheer yet. There's more. Mostly because a doctor went "well, I'm sure there's cancer, so let's MRI and operate again."
So they did. Yesterday while I was working a double.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuun.
Anyway, they started late and finished late. To make matters worse, when they were done, they didn't tell my family they'd finished. Nor did they tell my family that they'd moved my granddad to another room. They didn't share that one until an hour or so after the fact. What's more (haha) they didn't have the goddamned results of the test on that tumor they'd just removed.
You cannot begin to fathom the volcanic rage in me when I heard all of the above. Seriously. Remember this from Hercules?
Hades has been my spirit animal this week.
Moving right along, we now have the results. My granddad officially has metastasis melanoma. Apparently that can affect the brain in some rather fun ways—in about the same way being kicked in the face with soccer cleats is fun. So, naturally, chemo and radiation therapy await.
Hoo-fuckin'-rah.
So, there's the personal update thing. Just so you guys know that emotional rollercoaster is over(ish).
As for writing, well, I have plenty of Respite written and outlined. In fact I've been doing that for the past couple days because I have desperately needed a distraction from the whole "people are cutting into your granddad's head" thing. Tbh, I could probably update this week, but eh, we'll see. Depends on whether or not I'm a) a ball of rage, b) emotionally dead, or c) juggling five other things this weekend. Otherwise, you're waiting until next Thursday for chapter ... what the hell am I on? Eight? I think it was eight. We'll call it eight. I'll just go ahead and tag that story so people know.
I've also been poking at TGN because, like I said, I am desperate for distractions right now. Having a bit of fun there, not sure when this'll be done, but we'll see how it goes.
Got a couple one shots that I should probably dust off and take care of sometime soon. I still have that Incognito the changeling fic, as well as one involving pegasus courtship that involves deciding which pony ends up "under wing" and which ends up holding the other close. Because protector/protectee or alpha/beta or whatever.
I also have various other things in mind.
Formerly Committed (remember that guy from ScootaSpoon? Also the TwiDash admin? He's a friend of mine, fun guy to hang out with.) has been poking me to write a sequel to the aforementioned soup shipping (something something chicken soup) in the form of SweeTiara (shut up), as well as a few other random ships that are almost exclusively out in left field. But, hey, they're interesting, so I'll see what I can do. One of them is RainbowDance. DashDance? CaDash? Rainbow and Cadence.
Hoo boy.
Speaking of Cady, I do have a TwiDance adventure fic in the works. I know there's a couple floating around (including one I really need to promote because Fuzzyfurvert writes it and it's great), but this one approaches things from a bit of a different angle, namely that Twilight isn't a guard, so no silly "flip of a coin" shenanigans.
Sadly, I can't put Shiny in a dress, because Fuzzy beat me to it. Ah well. Next time.
Or it can just be a gag. Hmm. Nah, his pairing is funny enough. He can keep his dignity.
If Cady and Twily don't destroy it playing matchmaker. I mean, ahem.
What else did I have—oh! I noticed a comment or two (maybe a couple more? Meh.) on Respite asking if there was going to be a fic or something to explain the history. Well, maybe. I dunno. I have too many other things at the moment. And, really, the only fics coming to mind for me are about Euphoria and Cool Breeze or Aspire and Esalen's grandpa, Beguile, and their grandmother, Cloudfluff.
I think I had something for the founding at some point. It was probably a short thing (pfft, yeah right). I'll dig it up later.
Or Crystal will pester me to write it because she knows of it and wants me to be her little changeling writing bitch. Slave? Bitch? Idk. She just tells me to do things and then I do because she does this if I try to say no:
Seriously. That's how she got me to finally post the damn thing.
Anyway, that's all for now. See ya.
Next time just shake yo boobies at her.

3996453 Those boobies need to get in line, bro. I've already got a bunch of hot birds to look at.

Christ almighty. It's a ride that never seems to end. I remember it.
I got EQD to take Levee around then. It was a nice distraction, all the editing. Gardez helped a lot.
