What I thought of Hearth's Warming Tale: SPOILERS · 5:52pm May 14th, 2016
How odd to see a CHRISTMAS themed episode... In the middle of MAY.
The Christmas Carol is a very commonly copied book for various episodes of sitcoms and cartoons, and putting it in pony form adds little to it. Everyone knows what's going to happen, so the suspense level is 0.
I have to say, most of the songs here are very forgettable... Lost Mark (Or even Mystery Cure) this ain't. I liked Pinkie's number, and Luna's solo was a highlight, but that's about it.If I do rewatch this episode, I'd have to skip past some of the more extraneous tunes to get through it, because they became a bit of a chore after a while.
Jokes? The pony obviously modeled on Alan Rickman (RIP) as Snade, Twilight doing a Pinkie Pie voice (maybe getting a few tips from Dash in impressions) and Spike not knowing when to shut his yap were amusing, but nothing too great.
Overall, not bad, but no great shakes either. 3/5
P.S Never thought I'd see Tiara's mother again, even as a background pony...
Well, continuity callbacks are a thing in this show so...
Spoiled Rich returned to soon.
Diamond Tiara in a vintage dress was awesome. Including DJ-PON3.
I liked DT's dress, it was too adorable! I wanted to forcibly pull Spoiled away from her and tell her she didn't deserve such a nice dress.
Seriously, Spoiled's blue furry dress was too pretty to go on such a terrible pony. Put it on somepony else.
