Well, here goes nothing... · 7:12pm Apr 24th, 2016
Well, I've edited it, and looked it over, and done everything I think I can to improve it. I'm posting the new chapter, and the new story, now. The new chapter you should see immediately, but the new story needs to be approved first.
Hope I'm only being paranoid about where I'm taking this, and that you won't hate me for the direction I'm going with this, but I can't help but think that you guys will ditch me after posting this. Well, whatever. BANZAI!
Just be yourself. Nobody knows what your planning do with what you've done, just where you've taken it so far. Don't forget that.

While I would certainly do so if I didn't like the direction the story goes (I don't know, I'm still like 10 chapters behind current), you shouldn't let that sort of thing affect your creative spark. You'll never have a story that everyone agrees with, and you'll never have the perfect story. But one thing is for certain: Making a kneejerk reaction to appease your readers almost inevitably ends poorly.
DO trust your editors and pre-readers that that know your larger plans. Sometimes things that sound awesome are only awesome in your head. My own editors and pre-readers currently have me doing some massive rewrites because sometimes what's in your head doesn't work on the page.
Best of luck to you.
Having read both so far I can say I'm most intrigued. I can honestly say at this point I it would take a lot for me to ditch the story and I think your way too good a writer for that to happen now.
That said I can understand the uncertainty all too well. Performance anxiety in my case. I started taking music lessons a year and half ago (at age 35). I've always been bad with doing things in front of an audience and get always get hit by a massive irrational sense of pure terror every time I perform. Really I have to take nausea medication for days leading up to a recital. But bear with it gets better. You're good at what you do, and just trust your editors and pre-readers on things and it should all turn out well.
It's finally done! Time to read.
