Sunset Shimmer is MAD fan-art and story update... thing. · 9:25pm Apr 14th, 2016
Heya readers,
First up, big props to Nova Quill who has decided to evict the imagery my story has brought to her brain in the best way possible.
Art!
First we have Judgelestia!
Next up, Spike channels his EqG self as he stares at Flurry Heart and ponders the mystery if all those feathers.
Finally, Pinkie summons her inner vampire as Sunset Shimmer wonders what has become of her life.
You can check out more of Nova Quill's art here on her deviant art page.
Now, onto story news.
I've decided to switch my focus a bit, and I'll tell you why. First off, Sunset Shimmer is MAD about Everything has been an absolute blast... minus the parts where I get very angry at an animated train. The story is going a direction quite different from what I predicted, and I'm really liking this change. However, this change has prompted me to pick up a project that I left alone for too long, and that's my story For the Mare Who Has Everything.
The reasoning here is Sunset Shimmer is MAD is going to have us looking into a lot of Sunset's past relationships from her point of view. What I felt was missing was Celestia's point of view, something that would make a lot of sense to explore in a story that focused on her rather than Sunset. Hopefully some of the scenes in For the Mare Who Has Everything can make future scenes in Sunset Shimmer is MAD that much more of an impact.
Of course For the Mare Who Has Everything is quite a bit darker and heavier than my standard fair (or at least it's heading that direction, the new chapter should hit tonight or possibly tomorrow), so I don't expect it to be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who want to peer deeper into the emotions of 'tallest horse', it might better explain what she's doing and why she's doing it in the pages of SSiM.
I'm not sure if I'll keep working on FtM until it's complete before I get back to SSiM, but it looks like it'll take a lot less to finish the former rather than the later, then it'll likely be full steam ahead with SSiM followed by a check-up on Sonata's teeth in Tooth-hurty, possibly working on that until it's done, THEN I'll continue to sort through my pile of on-goings.
Hope you all are enjoying the story so far!
As always, thanks for reading.

Wow
AluPie. That is all.
You added my crappy artwork to a blog post? Thank you! I hope I can make more if you continue to not mind. Or even if you have something in particular you'd like to see, I need the practice.
I can't wait to read more of For the Mare Who Has Everything, I'm really liking your take Celestia, Luna and Chrysalis. That last chapter was heartbreaking, it really did the JLU episode ... well ... justice.

Really glad you're enjoying it! Yeah, it seems that last chapter hit all the correct notes with people. I'm trying to get the next one out, though dealing with the flu at the moment.
How, if you REALLY want me to start throwing requests at you, you best be careful as I LOVE art of my fics. I could probably stop and fill a Twilight friendship making instruction scroll on what I wouldn't mind seeing. Though I can tell you right at the top as in "I might be willing to kill someone in front of their own mom" WANT would be Starlight, Spike, and Alicorn Sunset hugging it out (them all crying their eyes out optional). #2 would be the cuddle pile at the end of "Dragon Lord Spike". Really though, I'm happy with anything (especially since #1 and #2 are probably exceedingly difficult involving multiple characters all wrapped up with each other).
Thanks again for all the wonderful art. It really makes my day when I see I've inspired someone to make anything based off my work.

I honestly debated trying to draw that one anyway, cause, like I said, I could use the practice. So I'll start roughing it out tomorrow or Monday and likely have ito done mid to late next week. I just cant guarantee that it will be show style. I'm always open to suggestions, so feel free to fire them my way, as long as your willing to understand that I can't always do them... or that it might take a while.
There's a big con going on near me, so I've kind of been doing the fangirl thing. Hence why I can't say I'll start it right meow.
