These are actual photos of Equestria. It turns out the show has misled us about its climate, presenting us a Europeanized Equestria rather than its true tropical flavor.

Turns out it's here. About 11 miles NNE of Valhalla, 6 miles east of Arcadia and Brooklyn, 4 north of Olympus, and just 2 miles NE of Faerie Glen.

That second photo surprised the hell out of me, because it looks unerringly, exactly like the Jacaranda tree I have in my front driveway, which also has a similar hedge running underneath it. At a passing glance, it looked like it was taken from my house.

I've never been there, but from what I understand many parts of the country are gorgeous. You can only live in those parts if you're rich, though, or very lucky (same thing I suppose). The rest is mostly sprawling, impoverished exurbs or blasted wasteland.
