Applejack's parents · 9:58pm Mar 18th, 2016
Hey, did any of you wonder whatever happened to Applejack's parents? There have been many legends on this one, from a farming couple that died protecting their baby daughter in the everfree, to being done in by simple illness. Even though AJ is here with us, her fuzzy memory again comes into play... she doesn't even REMEMBER them existing.... at all. Therefore, is this a topic you would all like me to look into? What became of these mysterious ponies? Who were they? How did they pass? And might they have made it into modern Ponyland? Should this historian put his efforts into researching a thousand-year-old mystery?

I believe that's a question to ask Applejack, no?While ot would be intresting to know (for even I , having grown up in such an isolated place, have heard a few versions of this story), it is Applejack's parents and we shouldn't dig into her past unless she wants to. It is not respektfullt (respectfull) to her and her past.

3814801 Agreed.

You should do it without telling her, chasing down the craziest-sounding legends, and then present the findings at her birthday party as a gift.
Hamlin Apple nee Orange, born AC1497 Manehatten, died AC1522 Ponyville during the Great Vanner Flood of 1522. Ambrosia Apple, born AC1495 Ponyville, currently alive and living Canterlot and works as Celestia's Chief-of-Staff.
.... Err... Oh right, the Applejack of this world not mine. Much as 3814801 said, best to ask rather than pry into her life.
-Aurum Apple.
Still amazes me at how you Apples can remember all the members of your clan.

3814834 Glad to see someone thinking the way I do
3814838 That, sor, would be very rude and I suggest we do not

3814857 Ponies don't get to veto historians looking at history just because they might not like what they'll find out.

It's considered polite to ask first. Seek truth not sensationalism, do it right and do it fair.
-Aurum
3814854 Well, thank you.
I can tell you right now, where I am, as much as AJ still loves her parents, the way that she and the family lost them tends to be a rather touchy subject at times.
Or as my Aunt Dawnwind wound say, "Don't go poking a hornet's nest. Some things are better left alone".
Enough said on that.

*cough* Guess there is a difference then between our worlds. But your point does stand.

You all notice I DID ask her about it, but she gave her classic answer for whenever I ask Applejack about the pre-Ponyland era;
"I don't remember."
I got the same thing from Spike, and Cadence and Shining Armor (Before their deaths), as well. Cheerilee remembers, but she vanished too early to be of any real help. At least AJ gave me permission to look into this matter if I chose to do so.

Sorry, I do get rather protective of my kin, even if they are from another world. An Apple is an Apple, no matter what tree or orchard they are from.
-Aurum
3815096 Indeed.
3815120 Speaking just for myself, I didn't, but if you asked her, then it's all good.
And that's good.
3815189
*grins awkwardly* Yeah, Cousin AJ doesn't like to talk to her mother and depending on who's hosting the reunion Auntie Ambroisa won't be invited.
-Aurum
If Applejack can't remember anything about her parents, then I don't see a problem for looking into it. Just try to be sensitive if Applejack gets a violent flashback because of the findings.
Bronze Shield.
3815120 Okay, that do sound fair. Please do it.

But this os personal history!
3814949
I see. That is understandable
