Thanks to Plainoasis, I now have a new and awesome coverart please take a look at the story. I didn't post it here because it was part of the deal that I wouldn't post it or any of Plainoasis's work on a blog (the guy is so modest he says all he needs is my thanks), but I'd still like some extra opinions on this blog before I update the story proper so feedback doesn't get mixed up with the story feedback.
Also, please give him a big hand. I'll be linking the deviantart source page soon when he shoots it to me, but seriously, this guy is talented.
One effect of this coverart was that I decided to retcon Alternia's hair. I never quite described its color though I thought of it as green, well now its blue. :P Realized I like it blue b/c of how it compares to Chrysalis and how it looks kinda like the blue in Celestia's hair.
Now back to thesis writing...

No Luna was because she is a character, but in this case not the central one. She was more evident in PC:TCQ, now its her sister's turn to shine. XD

Cover art is awesome.
The new art is very good. The blocky muzzles look a bit strange to me, and I'm glad I never watched Gumby because I fear if I did I would be having flashbacks right now, but it doesn't really detract from the work. Thumbs up, would view again.
But seriously. The expressions on the characters give a good mix of worry/uncertainty and determination, while Tethys (I assume) is suitably enigmatic. Nothing wrong with the ships, either.
Awesome. The color theme is very fitting for this seaquel.

Alternia turned out really well. She looks like a blend of Celestia and Chrysalis.
Have to say, that cover is amazing! Actually stopped in shock for a sec when I noticed it while flipping through my read later listings. Definitely a good match for the story
