Deathblog -- Week of 2/19/2016 · 11:41pm Feb 19th, 2016
I might as well start a weekly feature of obituaries culled from WIkipedia's recent deaths page. Since this year someone we knew and respected/admired is dying on a weekly basis.
*sigh* Let's get on with it.
This week's notable deaths (note: I'm listing people I or someone close to me would be personally aware of. I'm not listing every single death on Wikipedia.):
Harper Lee, 89, American author (To Kill a Mockingbird).
Jesús Barrero, 57, Mexican actor and voice actor (Saint Seiya), lung cancer.
Boutros Boutros-Ghali, 93, Egyptian politician and diplomat, Secretary-General of the United Nations (1992–1996), complications from a fall.
George Gaynes, 98, Finnish-born American actor (Police Academy, Punky Brewster, Tootsie).
For a full list of everyone famous who's died so far this year, see here
2016, please, stop.
Well, I only knew one of the people on the list, Mrs./Ms. Lee. Why are so many famous people dying?!
3765239 Well she WAS 89.
3765264 Alright, that one I'll accept. She had a long, full life
Well except for Mister Barrero, all of them have lived a long life so their death are more expected.
But even so, George Gaynes, a.k.a. Commandant Lassard, (sigh) the good moments of laugh he gave me. R.I.P.
Come on 2016 . I got money on Trump being this year .
Kuzco died!
Noooooo!
My oldest cousin was a fan of CDZ he even drew a poster with most of the characters back in '95. Too bad he too passed away.
Another one, just a few hours ago:
Umberto Eco, acclaimed author of The Name of the Rose and Focault's Pendulum, among others.
Between this and Pratchett almost a year ago, it has not been a good year for literature.
