Hello Everypony!! MixMassBasher here and I’m here to tell you facts on one of my favourite stories Bride of Discord by our favorite Fluttercord Shipper; DisneyFanatic23.
Why 20? Because the fun will become doubled.
1) The Author
The story itself was written by DisneyFanatic23, the author herself being a Fluttercord shipper.
2) When was it written
The story’s first and last chapter was posted on 16th August 2013. The reason being that it was posted on fanfiction.net first before being transferred to Fimfiction. This also made Bride of Discord the first story DisneyFanatic23 posted on Fimfiction.
The time of posting of Bride of Discord’s first and last chapters on fanfiction.net was from April 14th 2013 to June 18th 2013.
3) Inspiration
Well most readers of Bride of Discord can say that the plot of the story is parallel to “Beauty and the Beast”. Inspiration for Bride of Discord came from various sources besides "Beauty and the Beast," Such as an old Swedish legend "Bride of the Lindorm King" and an episode of the TV series "Once Upon a Time."
4) Ratings
The story itself has a 97.2% like ratio currently with 1303 likes to 38 dislikes.
There is a total of about above 162761 views on the story with about 687 comments.
5) Tags
The story has 3 Different Tags. The Tags are Alternate Universe, Drama and Romance.
The Alternate universe Tag is for the fact that in this story. The MLP Timeline here is different.
The Drama and Romance Tag is for the events occurring between Fluttershy and Discord’s relationship.
6) Diverge in Cannon Timeline
The story’s first chapter is an alternate ending to Return of Harmony where Discord escapes.
By the second chapter is technically set just after Season 3 minus the Keep Calm and Flutter On episode.
7) Sequels
The story has spawned a couple of sequels by DisneyFanatic23 for it’s popularity. These sequels would be The Discord Dating Game, Daughter of Discord, Hearth’s Warming Chaos and Son-In-Law of Discord. There is also a side story to this universe called CMC: The Next Generation focusing on the adventures of the descendants of the Mane 6.
8) MLP Season 5
Since Make New Friends But Keep Discord, DisneyFanatic23’s subscribers has compared that episode to Bride of Discord.
Why they never did this for Keep Calm and Flutter On I’ll never understand...
9) Shippings
While the story is mainly focussed on Fluttercord shipping. There are other ships in Bride of Discord as well. Such as AppleSpike, SoarinDash, RarityxFancy Pants.
And by the sequels stories there are Screwball x Mothball, Trixie x Iron Will, Cheese Pie Pinkie x Red Shoes and FlashLight shippings as well.
10) Comic Version
There is a comic version of Bride of Discord that is currently still in progress by IduChan
There is also a comic version of a sequel to Bride of Discord; The Discord Dating Game by WolfSpirit1292.
11) Various Side Stories created by Fans
Inspiration from one person can transfer to another. There are a couple of stories by other people that is also set in The Bride of Discord Universe. Some stories such as:

On a side note, there is also a gender-bent version of Bride of Discord, called Groom of Eris by Autistic Writer.

Bride of Discord was so popular that DisneyFanatic23 was nominated as Best Author and Best Fanfiction for Bride of Discord Bronyland Pony Awards in 2013.

The Bride of Discord Audio Drama has been featured on Equestria Daily on multiple accounts for each episode for the drama. Even the Christmas Video by the Bride of Discord Cast and Crew.
