In one of the Legends of Magic comics, another character actually shouts "Flash Sentry!" to him - I'm guessing it was just a mistake, since it's changed to "Flash Magnus!" in the omnibus edition, but it shows that at least one other person was thinking the same thing!

And yeah, I think that was probably the intention.
