Hey folks,
First I want to say thanks again for enjoying A Whole New Responsibility, the love you've all given it really has made the entire process worthwhile, and I wouldn't trade it for the world, however... I've read a lot of comments and several PMs in regards to the last chapter, and a fair amount of them are talking about a sequel, well I think I should tell you right here and right now.
It's not happening.
Now I'm sure some of you will be upset with that decision, but look at it from my perspective. I've been stuck writing the same thing for the nearly three years, that is if you include The Princess and I, and doing something for so long can be quite draining, as evidenced by the vacant space between updates in AWNR. I want to branch out and leave my comfort zone, test the waters and try to push into new territory, you know, see what else I'm capable of creating. I don't want to be a one trick pony as it were. There's also another reason...
I don't want Aedan to become my version of 'Spider-Man'
I'm sure some of you have read that hoax called 'Spiders and Magic' and it's long list of sequels, as have I, well I had to stop reading at one point, because being a comic book nerd I could only put up with so many 'liberties' in reshaping a character. Basically what I'm trying to say is this: Aedan's not a proxy for me, he's his own character, and the longer I continue the more people will start to think he's like Spiders and Magic's Spider-Man, who is, for all intensive purposes, Peter Parker only by name.
That said I am officially retiring Aedan and his family into the halls of my memories, where they will forever hold an honorable place as my first real success as a writer. I honestly do hope you understand where I'm coming from and that you'll stick around to see what I have in store for the future, because like I said in my last blog, a lot of stuff is coming down the pipeline and I can't wait to share it with you.

I agree, that Aedans story is done and I'm fine with that. I read the first Spiders and Magic and stopped in the middle(I might continue someday.) but you could do a spinoff instead, I think everyone would be fine with that.

I applaud this blog. Wise words for your fellow writers (I'm not one BTW). It's good to leave a story in a high note, and this one is fine as it ended
I'm saddened by your choice not to write a sequal- as it would have been interesting to see how the children would grow up and how they interact with the population at large.
I am also content in that you have chosen a decent place to cut it off at. I look forward to any further projects you decide to write in the future. Enjoy your well earnt break.

Understandable, many people need to take a break. I will look forward to anything in the future. Maybe you could write about celestia or luna becoming superheroes when they were younger. Just a idea.
I'm sad to see this series of stories end, but I do understand why. I will miss this, but all good things come to an end. Thanks for all the good times.
