Normally I'd put a video up to demonstrate my point...
...but the game is in such poor and horrendous taste that to simply put it up here would be absolutely disgustingly offensive. This is a game that needs to be seen to be believed and to be hated, downright despised, for everything it is.
When you have a game where you play a black slave who risks being beaten for not earning the trust of the white man, along ith some of the most insulting minigames you'll ever see like Black Slave Tetris, and a fooking mouse companion who - and I kid you not - sounds joyful when he talks about you getting punished with a cat o' nine tails, AND when the game suddenly doesn't even follow the time period it's set in and suddenly gives you time-altering goggle technology...
...you know what? I think Steam Greenlight needs to die. There are far too many horrible games getting through Steam and there's absolutely no quality control going on to make sure evil vile spunk-infested bollocks like Playing History Slave Trade don't get sold and poison gamer's minds.
That's my rant for the night. I've sat through 37 minutes of this filth, and my eyes now need to be bleached and my ears sewn back on.

3682198 I'm afraid it already did quite a while ago. Jim Sterling already played it and so have a number of other YouTubers.
Also, you think what you see in the link is bad? That's apparently just the second half of the game. In the first half, you're buying the African slaves - one of whom was your sister back when your character was captured - and you buy 300+ black people...for a set of knives.
If there had been an option to kill the captain with one of those knives it would have spared me the torture of watching this whole load of jizz jelly.

Steam Greenlight is dirty. The only thing that keeps me from wanting to track down the pricks meant to maintain it and blow them up with dynamite, is the fact that we miraculously got games like UnderTale and Kero Blaster out of it.
If Jim Sterling ever starts a revolt against Greenlight, I want to be a part of it. People can say that it's just a game, but when games are something that a lot of people play these days, it's not just a game anymore. It's a problem that will get worse the longer it is ignored. So long as you who see this game now know of its existence, you can help others avoid this dreck by spreading the word.

3682266 If you are ever interested in learning of some of the worst games ever, and also some of the best games, to come out of Steam Greenlight, I'd recommend watching Jim Sterling's Jimquisition show on his YouTube channel. It is where I learned about a fun game called Kero Blaster, a game made in a classic arcade style side-scrolling shooter that is challenging, but fair. It's a brilliant little game and it's worth the five pounds I believe I spent on it.
I'd recommend it to you as well if you haven't played it yet. Very simple control layout, and worthwhile replayability that offers increased difficulty and extended gameplay.
One tip to offer you if you do decide to play it; when you kill all the enemies in one area, move on to the next area, then go back to the previous area to make the enemies respawn. This is a great way to farm enemies for money and on rare occasions even Extra Lives.

And...well, let's say that their attempts at making humor about a real-life tragedy that was seriously depressing, makes the whole game even more seriously depressing.
Well, there is ONE joke that actually is kinda funny, where a guy talks about how he prefers to collect dead bodies rather than die from his wife's cooking. It's probably the only attempt at a joke in the whole game that's set up decently. But other than that it's just atrocious.

I've seen the damn game on Steam, and I genuinely am disgusted by the mere existence of this game.

I mean, the way everything plays out, you'd think this was a kid's game. It probably was intended for children since it's got a talking mouse and everything. But...how do you make something like the slave trade kid-friendly?
