Happy holidays, all. I hope the past few days have found you in the company of loved ones and good spirits.
It seemed in appropriate to do this sort of blog post on Christmas, but I do want to get it out in the open before I lose my nerve.
Simply put - I have an alternate account I've been using to write clop.
The reason I posted such things on an alt account is multi-faceted. First, while I've written sexfics for other fandoms, I've never written one for MLP, and have learned well over the past two years that this site works differently from something like Fanfiction.net in terms of the quality and quantity of feedback. Further, the sexfic idea(s) I had were for a particular fetish that may put some off, and that I'd never written before.
So, I was caught in the position of wanting to post this story to see how others took it, but not wanting to alienate friends and followers if it flopped. I had my cake and ate it too by starting a secondary account to post it under.
And, to my pleasant surprise, the feedback has been very positive, not unanimously so, but most seem to approve. I then wrote a sequel that largely provided the same experience, and an idea for a third is in the pipe. So, I'm feeling more confident in myself to come forward with this and revealing my alternate account, Derek Skysinger. If you wish to read the fics on that account, or not, is up to you, I do not expect anyone to rush over after reading this blog nor do I fault anyone who wishes to avoid clop.
I will state now for any admins reading - this is the first time I have had any interaction between these two accounts, one way or the other. I have not liked, faved, or followed any stories with this other account, nor have I added any stories to groups or used one account to boost the stories of the other. I used the alt account to post stories, reply to comments, and nothing more.
Moving forward, any future clop fics I may write will continue to be posted under this alternate account. Barring "Do Humans Get Wingboners," my main account and stories are PG-13 at worst, because I accept and approve of the all-ages nature of MLP, and I intend for things to remain this way.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have, I'll be upfront with answers as long as they're within reason.
