Philosophy will make you go bonkers · 2:05pm Dec 22nd, 2015
Rene Haycartes had the utter temerity to say that he knew he existed because he thought about stuff:
To which Hayvid Hume was like, "Oh yeah? Don't bet on it, lol":
And everyone argued about it forever after (I take Hume's side, personally).
I have no idea why I'm posting this, by the way. These things seem to happen right about the time you realize it's 6 AM and you still haven't gone to bed, I guess. Whatever, watch the videos, they're funny and informative.
Goodnight!
Couldn't resist
So... René Descartes is walking down the streets of Paris when he realizes he's near his favorite bar. On a whim, he decides to stop on in.
He walks into the bar and smiles at the barkeep, an old associate.
The bartender smiles back and says:
"Hey, René, gonna have your usual?"
Descartes taps his chin and twirls his mustache and then answers:
"I don't think I am."
Descartes promptly disappears.
It's okay, Winston... I believe you exist.
I stay away from any philosophy more sophisticated than people reciting Descartes from popular knowledge. I don't want to go any more bonkers.
