Alright, last thing for tonight, but hopefully you folks get a chuckle out of this.
For those of you who don't know, Reddit (the so-called "front page of the Internet", a semi-democratized link aggregator) has subs for just about every topic, from vexillology (the study of flags) to a sub entirely devoted to writing prompts based on ridiculous things Donald Trump has said to a subreddit called DucksInTheWay which is entirely devoted to pornographic pictures which are censored by the presence of conveniently placed rubber ducks. Yes, the sub is NSFW, so no link. No, they aren't photoshopped images; apparently people produce these images often enough on their own for them to be a thing.
There is even a sub devoted to ridiculous reddit subs.
But today, I found the ultimate sub: r/outside, devoted to the hit MMO Outside.
The top thread on it right now is entitled Why Does San Francisco have such a low draw distance?

Fortunately, akjax was there to explain:
As with most large cities, the extreme amount of objects, buildings, vehicles, and other players forces the draw distance to drop for performance sake. It's better to be able to cross a busy street without lag trying to kill you than being able to see stuff that's 20 blocks away.
This quickly lead to a conversation:
Spoonsforeggs
player xXX_m0SEs_xXx used console commands to change weather conditions once in order to get his clan away quicker with less lag, too overpowered so the creators stopped it.SmashMetal
Did people actually perform mods such as this? I thought it was just legend.spoonsforeggs
It was pretty much in beta at the time, hard to tell what happened back then.PossiblyAsian
Alot more shit going down back then, now it's a stagnant metagamespoonsforeggs
Tell that to clan: [ISIS]bk15dcx
Before the draw distance was reduced, it resulted in a bug that burned down the entire city. A patch was implemented to avoid this from happening on a regular basis. So far it works ok._____D34DP00L_____
All those players on the London server would have been so pissed by that fireMirRelevant
It happened before, on the Rome server, but the devs ignored it.IPman0128
I thought the Roman's one was caused by a highly ranked player?
The Internet is a wonderful place.
Holy shit, that is beautiful, and you are a beautiful man for bringing it to us.

Other threads in the sub are complaining about PK griefers in the Middle East servers, other people complaining about PvP being so heavily punished (why do they even let you PK if you're just going to get banned for it?), and then the thread about the NASA guild, which contains this gem:

I'm afraid so. D:
That is marvelous.
That said, the devs really need to rethink this "El NiƱo" event in the weather system. It's more than slightly ridiculous.
3620027 There was an attempt in patch 3.30.81 that nearly succeeded.
Related. I'm too lazy to look up which came first, though, or if they both sprung from the same tired joke to begin with.
HAHAHAHAHAHA REDDIT HUMOR SO FUNNY
REEEEEEEEE
Ugh. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that r/Outside is not actually about an MMO.
