Okay so everyone should have gotten their random gift recipients as Secret Santas. NOW WRITE!
WRITE LIKE THE WIND
my wrist hurts
Be sure to send me the link to what you've written when you're done so I can get everything together in the big Secret Santa compilation fic.
Do you prefer to receive said stories in gdocs, pastebin, unpublished fimfiction entry, or something else? (I kind of assume anything goes, but figure I should check.)
Same question, basically. Do we submit them for publication here?
Can I handwrite mine on wrapping paper and mail it in?
Let's write horse words!

In accordance with Fimfic's recent rulings on unpublished stories, I guess the best thing to do would be to send them as a Gdocs link. Individual publication of the stories after the Secret Santa deal is over might be possible. I'd have to talk with the rest of the staff on the logistics of allowing it.
?
Just a clarification? These stories are to be anonymous, so we shouldn't put our usernames on/in them, correct?
This is going to be amusing
3605633 Wait... what was this recent ruling on unpublished stories?

Yeah.

Fimfic now only allows unpublished stories to be linked and shared around for editing purposes. Which is kind of a weird rule I guess, but I think it comes from knighty/xaq so

Er, did that conversation ever happen/come to a conclusion with the OC Slamjam?
3611270 Apparently a couple of people have posted compilations of their slamjam entries. I don't know if that somehow circumvents the rules by not posting them individually, or if they got permission, or if there's selective non-enforcement going on for them. But it'd be nice to get a hint from the mods on whether we can have the same for this shindig.
Y'know, since it's been 2 weeks now.
Hint, hint.

Heh, I'm one of those people. After having been initially revoked months back, we finally got mod permission to put them up last Saturday—only thing was that we had to follow a few rules, to the tune of posting all of our own entries as one compilation rather than as individual stories and giving them descriptions as though they were normal stories. Hopefully we get something like that as requirements for a universal exception to the "no double-posting" rule, because things like this Santa business should probably be treated the same way.
3637085 Yeah, it's pretty restrictive to have to post something that won't really give credit for the story in the same way, plus it complicates submitting it to somewhere like TRG or EqD. There's actually precedent, but one that long predates the rule: the first several write-offs posted stories as compilations during the voting period, then many of the entries ended up getting posted by their authors later on.
I'm pressing the issue because I want to post my own story, and if that means I can't be in the compilation, then I won't submit it, which is also the default if we don't have an answer by the deadline. I'll just post a link and explanation in the compilation's comments and PM the person I was assigned to let him know the story is for him.
