The Wandering Bard

    Some OC Questions

Hey, all! This is a meme by gilgamemesh I've seen around Tumblr, and since I haven't gotten any asks about it there, I thought I'd post it here! Here's how it works: pick a number or multiple numbers from the list, post it/them in the comments, and in about a week or so (depending on how many asks I get), I'll post a follow-up blog about it! And if two people ask about the same number, that's

Greetings, everyone!

I hope that my American friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving as I certainly did! Apologies for not being on, but I was travelling that day, and then was waaaay too full to do anything but try and sleep it off. :rainbowlaugh: But, even though this is a few days late, I just want to say what I'm thankful for.

I'm thankful for all of my friends, both here on the site and off. It's been wonderful getting to know all of you, and I am looking forward to our shared futures of friendship! Next, I'm thankful for my wonderful family. Even when I don't see them for a while, there's so much love and happiness when we do get together, and it's like we were never apart. Lastly, I am very, very thankful for my very special somepony. Thank you, love, for staying by me these seven years, and for putting up with everything I've put you through. I love you sooooo much.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I'm excited for the Christmas season. It's my favorite holiday. I love the warm, friendly spirit that fills the air. I love giving those I love presents and seeing their faces as they open them. I love seeing the lights, the trees, and all of the decorations. I love watching the holiday movies. And I love the family traditions we have. Today, my parents and I were able to see The Nutcracker for the first time in years. We used to see it all the time when I was younger, so this was a lovely blast from the past. I'm also looking forward to taking our yearly Christmas light stroll, and to the Beef with Burgundy made from my Nana's recipe.

And for those of you worried about my latest story, I'm about to work on it. Seeing The Nutcracker today inspired me, and you'll see why when it's finally posted. Apologies that it's taken so long, but I'm just about past the part that was giving me the most trouble. I certainly hope that you enjoy it. And I hope that you all enjoy whichever holiday you celebrate. Or, if you don't celebrate any of them, then I hope that you have a good time regardless. Cheers to all!

There really was. :rainbowlaugh: Seems like you were in the same boat?

3575767
Gotcha, gotcha. Hope it was good, though.

It's okay bestie, glad to finally see you again! ^_^

3575802
Thank you, bestie! It's great to finally see you, too!

3575813
XD really missed yah.

3575817
And I you! All of you! It's just so great to be back!

3575822
XD I know the feeling bestie!

Aww. We're are all thankful for knowing you too.

3575917
Aww, thank you, Hay. I really am happy that we met.

Well here we are again my friend. I am very glad to hear everything is going well with you and your family, I am also very glad to hear somebody is thankful for something. Though I know we all are, I sometimes gaze around and see people with twisted wants, it hurts but the wound that it makes heals quickly when I am reintroduced to my friends; like you, for example.

Cheers mate! And may the holidays make us all merry. :pinkiehappy:

Thank you my friend.
I really enjoy Christmas
PS have you seen the season final. If not drop everything even reading the rest of this comment and go see it.
...WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE GO. NOW NOW NOW

Missed you, lass.

Glad to have you back.

Reading blogs like this, reaalllllyyy makes me think that I mis something here in the Netherlands!:fluttercry: It has and is, as ever, joyful and lovey to be at thy side, Miss Lyric. A cheerful future to you as well!

( Did you really have to put "Nut Cracker" like that!?:rainbowlaugh:)

3576083
:rainbowlaugh: I can't really say the same, since it's almost always cold where we are for Christmas. Though there hasn't been snow for Christmas itself the past few years, which makes me kind of sad. I love that white Christmas, even if dealing with the snow itself isn't always fun.

3576185
Thank you, my friend! It's always wonderful to see that people are thankful for what they have. Sometimes we all have little petty concerns (I know I do), but it's all small wants and discomforts in the grand scheme of things. And just know that you are a wonderful friend, and it's been so great to know you. Cheers to you, and let the holidays be bright!

3576330
You're very welcome, my friend.

And yes, yes I have! And while I do have some issues with it, I enjoyed it overall. It was, by and large, very well done!

3576373
Thank you, bestie. Sorry I keep disappearing on you guys. After that last giant burn out, I've been trying to take better care of myself.

3577721
Thank you, Lazydrill! And I know just what you mean about missing something. So many of my friends here on this site live a good distance apart, whether they, too, live in America or not. But, regardless, it's been amazing to meet all of you. Cheers to you!

(And yes, yes I did. :rainbowlaugh: I can't help that it's the name of the show!)

3582043
:rainbowlaugh: It's okay. If you haven't noticed, I've been doing more and more "vanishing acts" lately. After that last burnout, I'm trying to take a bit more time to relax these evenings. So if you don't hear from me for a few days, don't worry.

ANYWAYS! For the most part, I stayed home on Black Friday. There are waaaay too many shopping centers on the routes I would normally take to go anywhere. And when I did go out, it was only to my workplace for all of fifteen minutes, to the bank, and then to do some grocery shopping. Glad to hear that you had a good time, though, and that the movie was good! Never seen any of the Bond films here. Are there any you recommend?

As for The Nutcracker, I saw it in a theatre close to me. When I was a kid, we would see it performed by a local group at my then-future high school. And then we saw it performed by a professional ballet troupe twice. As for a favorite part, I always loved the piece near the beginning with the boys marching around at the party. Now, though, I'd have to say that the Arabian dance is my favorite. How about you?

And a "Happy Holidays" to you as well! (And seriously! The whole coffee cup issue is so bogus. :derpytongue2:)

Now to answer your PMs!

3582910
If you'd like, I can take pictures if/when we get a good amount. So long as we don't get what we got last year... *shudders*

We had so many snow storms, practically one right after the other, that dumped piles and piles of snow. When all was said and done, we probably had about 4.5 meters of snow when it was all stacked up...

3582986
Awwww! I love that clip! And awesome? :rainbowlaugh: It was not awesome to live through. It took FOREVER for it to melt. And it caused so much havoc here. All traffic halted, businesses shutting down, people losing water and power, all the ice and snow buildup damaging homes. Yeeeeaaaaah, awesome is not the word people here would use. But if I ever found that much snow in, say, a forest or a mountain? Then I'd go nuts!

3583039
Oh, no, no, no, nothing to feel bad about, my friend! I'm sorry to have made you feel that way. Despite it all, people managed to have fun with it as well. One of my favorite stories that I heard was someone in the city of Boston dressed up as a yeti and was walking around in the snow. And as bad as the snow was, it meant a lot of snow days from work. So there were definitely upsides as well. And on top of that, last year was unusually ferocious for us. So, please don't feel bad about what you said. What we went through must be nothing compared to the earthquakes that you have there.

3583074
I can understand what you mean about the homes. Where I live is not very prone to earthquakes (though we had a tiny one not too long ago), but I've seen the devastation on television and the like. But as you say, we can never understand how bad it can really be until you've lived through it. And it would be awesome to visit, but I think I'd freak out if I did feel any tremors. :rainbowlaugh:

3583133
Well, freak out only because I'm not used to it. But I have heard much of that advice before, and hopefully the logical thinking would kick in. Never knew that about going to high ground before, though.

3583150
No, no, I get what you mean. It is very sad, though, that the lesson had to be learned so harshly.

3582919
Your welcome
It was incredible it gave me courage to continue my war fic.

PS I found a Bioshock story on this site. If you want I can show you it.

3583156
Incredible indeed! It was definitely the kind of season finale I was hoping for. Huzzah for working on your fic!

And please! It would be fun to see it!

3583166

Thank you my friend.

I haven't read through it all I found it only yesterday but I like it. It was Gore (of course)

3583258
You're very welcome, and thank you as well! Added to my reading list!

3583263

It has a lot of chapters of reasonable size. The biggest chapter I ever wrote was 40000 or so. To get through it I make a schedule of a chapter a day to get through it within a month or so.

3582909 Been really sick these past two weeks. :pinkiesick: How chu?

3583269
That takes some commitment! Good on you for that!

3583292
Ugh, sorry to hear that, and I hope you feel better soon! I've been pretty well, thank you.

3583391

What the chapter length or my reading policy?

3582907 Same to you! Cheers! :pinkiehappy:

3583444
Both, actually. I mean, I can read a lot in one sitting, but I rarely force myself to sit down and read. And I can't say that I've ever written a chapter of that length before.

3583455

Thank you.
Its how I make an agenda of things. When I first became part of the fandom Season four was coming out in a few months so I had to catch up fast. I figured an episode a day and I'll be caught up in no time. Its also how I finished Bride of Discord.

I was shocked I managed to write a chapter that long plus it had five songs in it. Undeniably though one was just a regurgitated version of Will the circle be Unbroken. I HAD TO I JUST HAD TO

3583445
Okay, well, I have a ton of watching to do, and films to catch up on. Where's another long weekend when you need one!? :rainbowlaugh:

3583461
Hey, nothing wrong with that! It's a great song to be sure!

3583477

I know that's why I had to put it in. I usually try and make the songs I use as original as possible is all.

3582930 Cheers to tho as well, Miss Lyric.:moustache: I know it's the name of the show, but doesn't change it that you put it like this, that is emphasizing for me.:rainbowlaugh:
