A M Shark

The Shark is a mild fan of MLP who is writing an MLP version of a story she didn't like to see if she can do it "better" and wishes to share the results for critiques.

A Long Overdue Sneak Peek. (Thank goodness this isn't a library book.)

Hey everyone. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and will have a Happy Christmas.

    Now down to business.

I'm still working on Chapter 11 and ... let's just say there are parts of it that make me go: "This is why I'm (despite my name) an engineer, and not a lawyer."

But fear not. As I've said before, this chapter and story it is part of will both be finished.

I know this is late, but I just had to share it.

Thanks to misskoifishpony, I found out that my story The Draconequus with the Dragon Tattoo got a shoutout for Fluttercord Week 2022 Fanfic Appreciation in the form of this comic:

    Public Service Announcement

    Hey folks.

I'm afraid it looks like I'm not going to be able to make my goal of wrapping up The Pegasus who Kicked the Changelings' Hive by the end of this year. (Not unless I somehow manage to churn out 12 chapters in two months, which I doubt that I could.) Now that being said, I know it's been several months since I last updated and I feel I owe you all an explanation.

The Boys are Back ... Or are they?

Hey, everyone. I want to thank you all for being so patient with me regarding updates for The Pegasus who Kicked the Changelings' Hive. I had several real-life commitments in April and May that took away from my writing time, but I'm currently hard at work on the story, and wish to reward you with a tiny sneak peek at the beginning of Chapter 2.

Regarding Labels on The Ponies who Played with Fire · 6:14pm Nov 13th, 2015

To all my readers out there, I need some help please.

I'm wondering if I should swap either the Drama or Thriller label on The Ponies who Played with Fire out in place of Mystery. As you've seen in the synopsis, there will be some murders in the story and Discord will at least appear to be behind them, but if any of you have read The Draconequus with the Dragon Tattoo you can probably guess what's really going on.

So while TPwPwF will have some mystery elements in it, I'm not sure they're really strong enough for the story itself to be classified as an actual mystery.

Any thoughts or feedback on this dilemma would be appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. Still working on the next chapter, but in the meantime, here are a couple of songs I came across that reminded me a bit of Discord in TPwPwF.

First there's this one by Kansas (*Snort* Seriously Shark? Another Kansas song? Do you not know any other band?)
I can imagine something like this during the year he and Fluttershy are apart and he's trying to convince himself that he doesn't need her. (Heh heh, and not doing the best job of it.)

Then there's this one I came across just a couple weeks ago that I think kind of fits how Discord was feeling after the end of TDwtDT.
Warning: I apologize in advance for any earworms this song may induce.

Discord wasn't planning on falling in love with Fluttershy so when he did you could say it "hit him like a bomb." Probably not your typical break-up type song, but, hey, it's Discord.

I think you should have both. Your story has a lot of layers to it and contains elements of both drama and mystery. Especially mystery, what with the prologue and all. And the torn romance aspect and the fact that Discord will be wrongly accused for a crime is certainly dramatic.

I agree with taterforlife

Keep thriller given the tone and direction of the piece. Keep drama given the content. Add in mystery given how things will unfold.

Same here, I agree with taterforlife:)
#bestdescriptionforthestory ;)

3540109 The problem is I can only use six labels so I'm trying to decide which six to use. Now I'm considering putting in Mystery and removing Adventure since Adventure and Thriller could be similar. What do you think?

3540319 I think that seems fair. When I think adventure, I think something more along the lines of the story "Chaos Neutral", where they travel somewhere far in the whole story and it's a long trip. Thriller seems more appropriate and it's not like nobody's gonna say "HEY THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED ADVENTURE, WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN MEEEE".

Unless it's a troll. But then again, it's a troll and who cares what trolls think?

Also YES with so many agreeing with me. I FEEL SO POWERFUL AHAHAHAHA :pinkiecrazy:

Just kidding! :pinkiehappy:

Thanks for the input everyone. After giving it some thought, I've decided to keep both the Drama and Thriller labels, add Mystery, and remove Adventure since Thriller could be considered a more specific type of adventure.

Once again, thanks.
