Public Service Announcement

Hey folks.

I'm afraid it looks like I'm not going to be able to make my goal of wrapping up The Pegasus who Kicked the Changelings' Hive by the end of this year. (Not unless I somehow manage to churn out 12 chapters in two months, which I doubt that I could.) Now that being said, I know it's been several months since I last updated and I feel I owe you all an explanation.

There's actually a couple of factors involved. The first one is I've been having some bad writer's block on Chapter 7. It's that really annoying type where I know what I need to accomplish in that chapter, but can't seem to get the words right. That's happened to me before with several chapters and I've always gotten through it sooner or later, but this time around there's been another element to factor in. That other element ... *laughs nervously* I bought a house this year! Yep, no more renting for me, now I'm on the way to owning my own place. It's been an interesting and exciting new step in life, but it's also translated into me being busy the past couple of months with getting all the paperwork together for closing, getting all my stuff packed up to move, then getting it all unpacked in the new place, getting accounts closed at the old place and set up in the new place. *Chuckles* And there were a couple of snags here and there that forced me to get along without internet for several weeks. *Laughs wryly* And when I finally did get my internet set up, I spent most of those following days just trying to catch up on the business-related emails etc. I couldn't access earlier.

However, things are starting to settle down, and as they continue to, I should have more time and energy to devote to chapter writing.

But until then, thanks for sticking with me, and I will update as soon as I can. (*Gets a pensive look* Maybe I should aim to get Chapters 7 through 9 out by the end of the year since that would at least put me at the halfway point. We'll see.)

Take all the time you need! Life happens, and you should focus on it first. I hope you can overcome your writer's block soon...but as I said, focus on life first! Then you can make an awesome chapter, without worrying about deadlines or anything. Take care!

You know I was literally just thinking about you the other day and wondering when you’d get back to the story, given it’s been a couple months now. And then this happens! Marvellous.

I must say, congratulations on the house. Hope that it was both a good deal and good location. Having done the same thing a few years ago, I know the craziness of moving in and then fixing/changing what there is to match what you want. Again, hope it’s all going well.

Looking forward to the next instalment of our heroes’ adventures - as always - whenever that may be.

Thanks everyone. Getting moved into my new place has been pretty hectic at times, but I went into things expecting that to be the case. Which actually made it a lot easier to roll with any issues that popped up. It's actually reminded me of my first week every new semester in college. I'd go in thinking: "Okay, I'm probably going to be a bit stressed out these next couple of days while I'm getting my new classes and schedule figured out, but things will settle down once I get that sorted out."

And in spite of some bumps and snags here and there, I think things have gone quite well considering this is my first time ever buying a house. Still thank you all for your concern.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm already working with Nightwalker as my editor. Since he's helped me with editing the earlier two books, I'd like to finish out this last one with him, but I appreciate your offer nonetheless.

You know it's funny, but after I posted this blog and admitted that I was having writer's block, something in my brain just seemed to click and now I think I have a way to work the scenes that were giving me trouble earlier. So while I still have a ways to go to make the next chapter fit for human eyes, I'm happy to report I am making progress.

*Chuckles sheepishly* Yeah, I wanted to have Chapter 7 ready for you when I next messaged you, but I underestimated how much of my time and energy getting moved to my new place would take, and before I knew it several months had gone by. *Shrugs helplessly* Well, live and learn I guess.

Oh thank you. I'm still getting used to my new place, but I'm liking it so far. It's this townhouse that's small enough to be manageable, but the layout is set up in a way that doesn't feel small or cramped, so I think it will be a good fit for me.
