AppleDash contest: Upcoming Story · 4:34pm Nov 7th, 2015
Hey there, mates. Not too long ago, I wrote a wee bit about this cool contest on the AppleDash group. Well, because I'm a bit of an ambitious bastard, I'm not exactly aiming for first place.
See, you're allowed to submit multiple entries. The way I see it, you've got to aim for the absolute top score. So, I'm aiming to come in first, second, and third place. All at once.
It probably won't work, but a guy can try.
Anyway. My first draft of story entry number 1 is ready, and will soon be entering the editing phase. I'm really happy with it, and it's also a great occasion to use some of the new tags! Specifically, Thriller and Drama.
Behold!
The One-Week Year.
Whilst I'm bound to change things during the editing phase, the current description goes thus:
Wheatland farms: the greatest source of food in Equestria. The ponies of Fillydelphia rely on it for bread, bakery products, and hay.
When a freak wildfire takes out an entire season's worth of crops, things are dire. The ponies of Fillydelphia are facing starvation.Applejack hatches a daring plan. Accelerate the weather around her orchard, rushing through Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn, and reap another harvest in time before Fillydelphia's stocks run out. There's just one problem: all she has is a week.
For this to work, she needs a pegasus. Specifically, she needs a pegasus as nuts as her...
The idea actually stemmed from a debate on a Writers Group thread regarding how the weather worked in relation to the Equestria timeline. Unfortunately, I can't find the thread, so I can't link it here. Ah well. It started as a joke, and like most things I find funny, I wrote it.
Hopefully, two more stories will be ready to rumble soon! Both of them AppleDash. Both of them cool. This is me we're talking about here. Last time I checked, 14% of the stories on the most recently uploaded page of the romance folder in the AppleDash group were mine.
24% of the upvotes on that page were mine too. That means my stories get better reception than the average modern appledasher! Hurrah.
I'm basically AppleDash-man at this point. I'll probs have a costume for it soon.
Maybe I should go outside one day.
That's all from me. Have a good one.
My god, Hap. This was fast coming.
Do you, you know, eat? Sleep? Do other things that people tend to do?
Not that I'm complaining but it doesn't hurt to ask.
3527551 I drink coffee.
A lot.
I also mostly write to de-stress after Uni, so I generally do it a lot.
