Final BttB update and a Request · 4:54am Oct 13th, 2015
Better than the Best is done! I'm hoping to finish my edits tomorrow and I'll be posting the final chapter Wednesday at noon EST. I just wanted to thank all of you who have taken the time to read this story. It was truly a pleasure to write, as was reading all of your wonderfully entertaining comments.
Now, before I move on to my requests (I actually have two of them), I wanted to share with you the description of my next story, The Darkening. If you are interested at all, then you'll find it after the break.
The Darkening. The name given to the last twelve years in which the vamponies have ruled Equestria in an everlasting night. The few living ponies that remain hide within their small, walled towns and scavenge the decimated lands for food and water.
Twilight Sparkle, the first born of Mistress's generals, played a crucial role in the fall of Equestria, and has remained steadfastly loyal to Mistress. But when Mistress betrays her and leaves her for dead, Twilight begins a quest for vengeance. Guided by a strange being named Discord, she seeks to gather the Elements in order to destroy Mistress once and for all.
Meanwhile, the vampony hunter Applejack, tormented by the perversion of her friends and her own failure to protect her family, learns of the existence of a very rare gem that can save Apple Bloom from her heinous fate. With her best friend, Spike, she sets off on a quest to find the Phoenix Heart, and bring her sister back among the living.
In the darkest hours of a dying world, the destinies of these two determined ponies will clash. Their resulting struggle will start Equestria down a new path that could lead it toward its salvation, or its ultimate destruction.
My first request is for pre-readers for this story. This will be a rather large story, with many twists and surprises, and as I've never attempted something this complex before, I want a couple of readers that can give me well thought out comments and detailed reactions. I won't post the first chapter of the story until I've finished chapter three, then I'll wait to post chapter two until I finish chapter four and so on. So, if you chose to do this for me, you will have plenty of time to read at your leisure.
My second request is for a cover art. If you know anyone who would be willing to create a cover art for me, or are willing to do so yourself, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm looking for someone who can do dark, as I want a terrifying depiction of Mistress. I can't pay, but if you really want to be paid for your work, I will eventually get it to you. Pinkie Promise. I know this is asking a lot, but if I don't get any takers I'll just ask for help in the Art for Fanfiction group. I'm just hoping someone here will pick this up so I can focus solely on the story and not worry about the cover art.

I'd honestly love to pre-read this. I really enjoy Vampire stories done right.... although I'm scared that the Mistress in question is Celestia.
This is a rather surprising change of pace for you... I'm interested to see where it goes. You're a good writer as far as I'm concerned.
As for art, what kind of style are you looking for? Do you want it edgier than regular pony? Or do you want it to be still cartoony? Picking a style is kind of the first thing to go for with cover art. Find a few pictures you like and try to find someone who draws similarly.

Heh, this sounds nearly like the setup of Underworld. It sounds cool and all, but the name Mistress is just... missing something. Mistress What? Still, in the end it sounds very intriguing and I look forward to reading.
