So, no real work done on anything creative right now, my dudes. Still working through my shit. Getting a lot of therapy, but unfortunately the "greater situation" I'm dealing with is both existential, ongoing, and an annoyingly hot topic right now, so it's an uphill battle.
Huh. I wonder if anybody still checks this page. I've been pretty dead on this site for a while now.

I'm going on record as saying I think the lot of us could've written the episode (or at least what it set out to do) a helluva lot better then what we got. But there's a word for times such as this; shouganai. It can't be helped.

3460160 it would be weirder to not complain about?. five seasons of bullying and just " you arent bad your other is a bitch and everything is ok" and their cutie marks are so damn generic that one would believe starlight glimmer was behind then getting them, maybe there wasnt a budget for a better design after most of it was spend on the light show previous to they getting it

I'll be quite fair. The 'Heart inside the Apple' mark and the 'lightning bolt inside the wing' mark are actually pretty well designed, at least as far as those elements go. The former looks like somebody has taken a slice out of the apple, and it's being viewed in such a way that the slice looks like a heart, while the latter just lines up very nicely aesthetically.
However, the music note inside the heart mark, I feel, actually looks kinda generic. And all that said, the color scheme really makes them all look dull and more like purple blobs than anything else. The marks would have honestly been better if they'd either stuck to the CMC shield motif, or given them the unique marks inside the shields. Putting the both of them together just makes it overly busy, and the all-different-shades-of-purple color scheme makes them blend together into a mishmash from any sort of distance.

I was mostly making a dumb joke about how "blitz" is German for lightning, so a "lightning-wing" could be translated into "Blitzwing," and then you've got three colors for the whole triple-changer thing...
Anyways, yes, while I felt like it was a decent anniversary episode in an overall strong season, the cutie marks could've been better-designed (even a less-busy color scheme would've been nicederpicdn.net/img/view/2015/10/11/1000128__safe_scootaloo_sweetie+belle_apple+bloom_cutie+mark+crusaders_cutie+mark_crusaders+of+the+lost+mark_spoiler-colon-s05e18_redesign_the+cmc%27s+cutie+marks.jpeg ) and the method they got them was kinda strange.
But! You've been AU territory for a while now, anyways! Whatever happens in the show, I'll still eagerly await your Sari-meets-Megaman Apple Bloom and your hot-n-steamy giant-robot-on-giant-robot action.
