Well, first off, happy 5th anniversary to Friendship is Magic. Just try to think for a minute. If it wasn't for this show, what would you be doing?

Holy. Fucking. Shit.
Congratulations, Amy. In the span of 10 minutes, you made me go from flipping the screen off when DT was on screen, to actually... Actually...
Feeling sorry for her.
Better redemption than Luna, not quite up there with Sunset.
And what a curve ball there. It only took four and a half years, but congratulations, Cutie Mark Crusaders. You've most certainly earned them.
This episode honest to god made me CRY. I'm at a point in my life where I still don't know what I want to do with myself, and to see Diamond Tiara turn around what she's been expected to do and just say SHOVE IT to her overbearing mother was so great to see. To also see the CMC get their marks whereas I haven't made me just wanna curl up and cry, too. AJ's line about their parents ruined me.

Not all of us have seen the episode on premier, and this is still the third damn time I've gotten spoiled.
I'm unfollowing anybody that doesn't seem to understand that losing out on a five year character arc's ending sucks on principle, but please spare anybody else.

As most people writing about the episode are currently doing.
I would have thought you'd be one who'd not be in favor of them getting cutie marks!
But regardless, this episode is an absolute masterpiece in my book. The music was superb, I felt sorry for Diamond, the CMC figured out what they were good at and how their cutie marks united them like the Mane Six are united with each other, and the heartfelt ending to this episode. The confirmation of Applejack's parents being deceased, how Rainbow treats Scootaloo truly as a sister, just... a top ten for me. I think I'll stand by that statment months from now.
I didn't like the episode at all. Except for the parts where Diamond Tiara was happy. Those were fine.
But her whole mopey scene and the CMC's decision to go follow her just seemed really poorly written. Like it was the first draft of the dialog and they hadn't decided which character was going to say what so they just had the lines assigned randomly.
I think making it a musical episode was a mistake.

Couldn't help but remember your Letters from a disgruntled friendship student letter for Swarm Of The Century. XD
I didn't cry. However, I did leak out plenty of liquid pride
I personally felt that DT's redemption was the best one yet.
Mainly because I never actually expected to feel bad for her, much less like her.
