Hey guys, Viking ZX here, borrowing a computer to make a post in the early hours of the Alaskan morning (we've still got a few days until we ship out, so I can still get on the grid).

As you may have noticed, Beyond the Borderlands is now marked "Complete." It's been a wild ride, and a whole lot of fun. I've really enjoyed using my phone to read everyone's comments over the last few days. There's been no small amount of praise and a whole lot of excitement and anticipation, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. The forums over on the Dusk Guard group page have erupted with speculation and hunts for detail that have been overlooked, and just in general it seems as though everyone has really enjoyed the end to Beyond.

I'm glad. Beyond has been the product of months of hard work. Now that it's finally over, it's great to see all those months paying off in the form of so much enjoyment, empathy, interest, and speculation. Especially with how rough life has been lately; the reception for Beyond the Borderlands has been a shining bright spot in the midst of everything else.

So my usual retrospective-like musings upon completion of a story are going to be a bit truncated since I'm kind of hunched over someone else's computer at someone else's desk at the moment, but I can give a few highlights. Beyond was, like the rest of the saga, planned out a long, long time ago. In fact, I knew most of what was going to happen in Beyond before I was even halfway done with Rise. Again, similar goes for the rest of the series, which is why there are so many chekov's guns and little interconnected dominoes everywhere. So many of these reveals (like today's epilogue, or Sheerwater) I've been waiting so long to give out, since before Rise ended, that actually getting to them at last was a relief.

And we're just getting started.

For those who are wondering, though, Hunter/Hunted will once again be staring the six members of the Dusk Guard. Not that this means we've seen the last of the Dusk Rogues ... They have a part to play in the future of all this as much as the DG do. As to when I'll get to Hunter/Hunted ... well, like the break in-between Rise and Beyond, there's going to be a bit of a wait. I need to release Unusual Things and Colony, as well as write Shadow of an Empire and one other book before I can get to work on Hunter/Hunted. Though given my pace (I wrote Beyond the Borderlands in three months start to finish) That can't be too much of a wait. I'm no GRRM. Thankfully. And in the meantime you guys will still be getting stuff to read.

Anyway, a big thank you to everyone who enjoyed Beyond the Borderlands. I'm glad you enjoyed the ride, and I look forward to seeing you all hang on tight for the future.

Because I think we can all agree: based on that epilogue, this ride's just getting warmed up.

Side Note: Those of you who helped me out of financial disaster by purchasing copies of One Drink and Dead Silver a few weeks ago, if you've finished one or both of them by now, please leave a review, as reviews help push the books up recommend lists. An honest review, loved it or hated it. Or the middle, if that was what happened.

It certainly was an enjoyable ride.

I have just only recently picked up this series, reading chapters in between shifts at work. I love the story thus far and look forward to reading about the upcoming storm with Mr. Kaan.

Excuse me.

*latches on to Viking's leg*
Don't mind me, I'm just following.

Thankful indeed! At least you didn't start killing off your characters in a fit of angst! :rainbowlaugh:

On another note, do you plan to write on any conversation between Alchemy and Frost, wherein he tells her what and who he saw?

Read it, loved it, eagerly awaiting your future works.

The question on all of our minds, though, is "Will we ever see Dusty, Stal, and their hypothetical adorable hippogryph children again? Perhaps in a short story?

Congrats, you really deserve a Pinkie Party both on the boat and when you get back. :pinkiehappy: Great to see it all out and so well received. Now I can really start bugging my friend to start reading these since BtB is done. :rainbowdetermined2: (We really need a cackling nightmare moon emote on here.) And I can put 99% of my gag back in the drawer... on this universe at least. :pinkiehappy::trollestia:

3421540 I'm with you there. I have a suspicion that they might make good characters for looking deeper into the immortals, aside from anything Luna and Celestia can say directly that is. Guess we'll have to wait and see on that one. Also I too would love to see little hippogryphs running around. Though that does bring up an interesting question. Is there such a thing as a pegagryph, or unigryph?

3421538 thanks I was going to ask who GRRM was but I believe you have cleared the question up for me when you said "At least you didn't start killing off your characters in a fit of angst! " :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

:pinkiehappy:
One question: do you have an estimate (even if rough one) when Unusual Things and Colony will be available for sale ?

KAAN! KAAN! KAAN!

And that's all I have to say on the matter. Thanks for all the KAAN!
