I'm pretty sure people would rather have story updates instead of art updates, but it turns out most artists draw faster than I write.
Also, uh, due to my last image hosting site failing, I don't actually know what art I've posted before so here we go!

    Iron Cavalry

Ever since the advent of the Strider-class equine battlesuit the commanders in the 38th Company have been thinking up new tactical approaches to using their new assets. The obvious approach is to use them like the Sentinels they were modeled after: for scouting and light fire support. But the Chaos pirates already possessed Sentinels and had not gotten a new field unit in quite some time, so they

    Praying to the Dark

"You wanted to know more about us, grayskin?
Do you want to know why humans turn to Chaos?
Sometimes we convert at gunpoint. Sometimes we trade our souls for petty comforts or advantages. Sometimes we need to think that there's some kind of greater intelligence and will standing behind this cruel, merciless universe, and wish to align ourselves with it."

Age of Iron Synopsis Launched! · 2:40am Sep 2nd, 2015

So, after completing a massive million-word epic and setting up a group for it, naturally I looked back upon the fruits of my labors and thought to myself: "Sweet Gods, that's a lot of text. Isn't there anyway to give people a concise explanation of what happens in the story so that they don't have to read all that crap?"
This was followed, also naturally, by the follow-up thought: "And can it be done in crayon?"
The answer to both questions was YES.

This comic provides everything you need to know about the Age of Iron, except all the characters, the specific circumstances explaining why the Mane Six became space pirates, and what the Hell happened to Twilight's pet owl.
Although Iron Hearts doesn't explain that last thing, either.

Anyway.
You can find it here.
Unless you insist upon foiling my subtle attempts to maneuver you through the AoI group page, in which case, FINE.
I've set the links to EZTP's original DevArt page, mostly because the picture file is apparently too big for FiM's puny, girly little servers to display properly, and also because this way I can directly inflate his view count rather than pasting it up in more convenient places where DeviantArt doesn't know about it.

I'm not sure that is exactly how it went down, especially with the 'evil' Tau; but it is done in crayon, therefore I cannot question it.

I didn't realize Twi's owl was a thing. :rainbowhuh:

The owl is canon at the point in which Iron Hearts begins. I'm sure. I checked.
Then I thought, "screw it, I am NOT adding even more scenes just to explain what happened to her :yay:ing owl."
Then I thought after that, "but I will blow up her house."

They weren't REALLY evil, no, but to the perspective of the ponies it was pretty hard to sell "your planet gets overrun and your people slaughtered so we don't have to fight a really big war" as morally ambiguous.

The crayon summary is just the best.
