Somewhere in the USA. Probably older than you. And something about MLP:FIM makes me want to write stories. Unfortunately, being gainfully employed cuts into my writing time.

    Retrospective Review: Strong Seconds

Not an episode review this time.

PresentPerfect writes about the "Applejack Problem", that a character with everything figured out becomes too boring. Her cutie mark is literally deciding she wants to stay home.

Retrospective Review: Putting Your Hoof Down and It's About Time

    S2E19 Putting Your Hoof Down

Watching this episode as part of the whole series is jarring. You have episode after episode of ponies being kind and friendly, then a whole bunch of rude ponies all at once.

I hate Angel Bunny in this episode. I want to turn him into hasenpfeffer.

I'd like to know why there just happens to be a hedge maze somewhere near Ponyville.

Retrospective Review: Hearts and Hooves Day and A Friend in Deed

    S2E17 Hearts and Hooves Day

The writers have chosen, once again, to feature a holiday or celebration in this episode. Arguably, this is the seventh time (Summer Sun Celebration, Winter Wrap Up, Running of the Leaves, Grand Galloping Gala, Nightmare Night, Hearth's Warming, Hearts and Hooves Day), and the third time directly referencing a major American holiday.

Retrospective Review: Baby Cakes and The Last Roundup

    S2E13 Baby Cakes

So this was an episode that came completely out of the blue. There was no indication of Cup Cake being pregnant, let alone with twins. I'm assuming there was a toy involved.

"That makes sense, right?" Sure, but if you're a pegasus stallion with a beige coat or a unicorn stallion with a yellow coat, I wouldn't recommend dining at Sugarcube Corner.

Is anyone still left? · 11:10pm Aug 19th, 2015

After some lurking, I joined FIMFiction in March 2012. My first story here was a HiE story with a few twists, but otherwise not earth-shattering. It deliberately started like a "typical" HiE story before the first twist, but I published the first three chapters at once, to highlight some of the other differences.

I'm tagging this story for two reasons. One is that I wonder if any of the relatively small number of readers who favorited the story are still around, three-plus years later. The second is that, after sitting in my collection of partially-written stories for a couple of years, I decided to publish a sequel to it. It's an open-ended multichapter story, and will include our poor protagonist having to be the sane one in a group of multiple visitors.

I enjoy HiE stories. They're a guilty pleasure. It doesn't matter what kind. Human becomes pony, human man becomes mare, human hooks up with a pony, human gets a pony harem. I just like to see a comparison of the cultures in these two alternate realities.

Aside: That story was numbered 20458. This one is numbered 284851. That's quite a collection of horse words on this site!

I hadn't heard of the original story until you published the sequel, so I've downloaded it to read first. I also have a soft spot for HiE stories, especially if they involve ponification. :)

Before I can read the sequel I'll have to reread the first, as I've forgotten about it.

I'm still here but cannot remember the first story to well will have to reread before i even think of reading sequel...

I'm afraid I never read the earlier story. It is now on my Read Later list, for what it's worth.

hawthornbunny, yes, there's ponification. That's actually one of the things that I didn't pick up before writing, that some people didn't like it. But it was more appropriate for my story anyway.

And looking back at the original, which was written during the second season, it's amazing how much has changed, in particular with the use of one character. It's enough that, even though the sequel is set during Season 3, I still have to comment on that.

I'm still around, and still interested.

I didn't have the original on my RIL, oddly enough, so I changed that. :B

Haven't yet, but will read Crossing Over soon.

I followed you for other stories, not really into HiE unless it's a crossover. Clean Slate and Applejack's Bar are two that I see on your list that I really enjoyed.

I don't remember the story but apparently I have read the whole thing, liked it and tracked it...
Gunna need to reread.

The only problem I have with Crossing Over is that neither the story name, pic, nor description do much to differentiate it, even after I've read it three times. But hey, sequel. I dig.

3333252 That's fine. I do have one human crossover idea (pony on earth) that I may someday write, one that doesn't appear to have been done before.
Did you read Scootaloo's Family?

3333315 A big problem with stories primarily focused on original characters. They're best with original art. And I have zero artistic ability. So I look for a screen shot, but it's not ideal.

I'm still around. I'll have to reread it :)

still here.

I'll give it a read tomorrow.

...and wow, what a ride!
